I have travelled on this airline a number of times as I have gone on my spring holidays with Portland.I have flown to Menorca whichnthankfully is not a long flight. We first travelled with them 4 years ago my son was 9 and this was our first time to Menorca. We went and was checked in by Brittania staff no smoking fine and together yes.I boarded and could not believe it we were seperated my son was across the aisle with strangers. He was brave and I was upset.I got the hostess and sorry we could not change. My husand was on a different aisle altogether.I held my sons hand taking off and the man next to him did help him as much as a stanger could.Coming back we were I can assure you together.I did write when I returned home and was told next time if I travelled again I was to mention a name and we would sit together. If I had paid an extra £45.00 this may not have happened. In the November I went to Florida and we were together but I did pay the extra and I have every time since. Last year we went to Crete with them not too long of a flight and going was fine, coming home was different, we hit bad weather and it was very rough people throwing up and the air hostesses were not even allowed to get up for there own saftey. The plane was freezing and they did not have enough blankets ,they took the blanket my son had not yet used to give to another Ok but he in the end was going blue, one of the hostesses gave me her own personal cardigan to help him which was lovely.I did write but never heard a thing. The food is of a poor choice very plastic and always the same.It is hard to get drinks etc when it is not the appointed time.I will not be travelling with them this year I am going by JMC in the spring and Virgin in the winter.

We're flying with them next week, I paid an adult fare to get a seperate seat for our 1-year old. Sounds like we could end up sat seperately. Will they leave a one year old sat alone? We'll see!!!!

The fee for booking seats together on Britannia is £7 per adult and £2 per child (£14 for adults on long haul), nowhere near the £45 you state in your op. This also allows you in certain airports abroad express check in for your return journey. I have flown with Britannia on more occasions than I care to remember, and their service, food and condition of their planes is far superior to that of JMC.

Unfortunately I have read your opinion after I booked my flight to Cyprus in September. I will make sure that we pay that bit extra to prebook our seats.
