Me and my boyfriend stayed here for a Valentine's day as there was a fantastic offer. It was a four poster suite, an evening meal and a breakfast buffet, for £130!
The hotel is very close to the city centre, and public transport. Its also very handy, when you've been shopping. There isn't very far to carry all of your bags.
Upon entering the hotel, first impressions are amazing, a great staircase meets you with a large chandelier. Everything is clean and tidy, and the brass work shines!
When it comes to joining the queue for reception to sign in, it is very slow. When you reach the counter the staff don't smile, and are like robots.
There was one problem with our room, it wan't a four poster suite, just a normal one. When went back down to recption, this caused a bit confusion as it was marked on the computor as a four poster suite. However the staff were helpful, and swapped our room with another, which had a four poster suite.
The room was clean and tidy, including bedding and bath towels. It had everythiing that was advertised and that was needed. The quality of the room was excellent.
The evening meal was a disaster!!! We had to wait 3/4hr to get a table, and people were getting seated before us, even after complaining. Once seated the service was still slow, and had to remind the waitress to bring wine list over after 15mins. People were leaving halfway through their main courses and others were complaining about service. We were not the only dissatisfied customers.
The food was okay and served hot, although the side vegatables, were debateable. The dessert was delicious.
Breakfast in the morning was quite successful. You seated yourself and helped yourself from the breakfast buffet. There was quite choice, cooked food, cereals, fresh fruit and cold meats, nuts and seeds and yohgurts. The cooked was quite nice, although the sausages were a bit tough. Apart from that the breakfast was success!
Overall, the staff don't smile, but as a room to stay in it is excellent, clean and tidy. I would not advise eating an evening meal there. There are plenty of other restaurants nearby that are a lot better.

I cant see myself staying there, what sort of other facilities did the hotel have for instance did it have entertainment etc, a little more about this sort of thing would get you a higher rating - Lainey
