Stay and Fly

Advantages: Clean and tidy, plenty of space, good food
Disadvantages: None

I recently went on holiday and flew from Newcastle. Rather than drive from Scotland on the same day we booked in to the Britania in what is as good as the grounds of the airport.

When you first pull up to the hotel you sort of think, oh my God. That is partly due to the fact that you have to pass the Travel Inn to get to it, which is brand new. From the outside the Britania looks a little dated.

Having said that, you ...
...here, even though they do a stay and leave your car deal there are plenty of free car park spaces.

A room for the night for two cost us £68, not at all bad for a hotel close to the airport.

Reception is clean and tidy and you get a warm welcome when you arrive. Everything is easily located from the reception area. Rooms are not that far away so there is no long walk after a long drive. There are also a couple of lifts ... more
