The Britannia Hotel, which was opened in 1897, was Trondheim\\\'s first great luxury hotel, and it has been synonymous with the very highest standards of service, comfort and cuisine ever since. Even though the hotel\\\'s elegant facade and stylish interior may recall a bygone age of travel, the Britannia Hotel is very much a modern hotel offering all the facilities expected by the modern-day business traveller or tourist in an atmosphere of gracious style and traditional hospitality.
Advantages: Central location. Great decor.Great food. Good service Disadvantages: Difficult to think of any
...On my three visits to Liverpool I have always visited the Adelphi Hotel which I reckon is a superb hotel and is not that expensive. If you judge in terms of value for money it is really good value. There are often special or mid week breaks offered by the Britannia group of hotels and they are at rates much below the rack rate.
The public rooms at the Adelphi are sumptuous to say the least. You can imagine all the shipping tycoons and wealthy merchants and their families sipping afternoon tea in the magnificent lounge.
The quality of the service at this fine hotel matches the surroundings. The sunday lunches are moderately priced and well worth sampling. There are a lot of facilities at this city centre hotel and my husband enjoys the bars very much. The Adelphi also has a disco for the younger crowd...

Advantages: Fantastic architure and history to this Grade II listed building Disadvantages: Now contains a cheap and noisy hotel
...This review is mainly about the hotel building and it's local amenities (there are some other reviews on here detailing visitors experiences).
If you are looking for affordable accommodation in a perfect location in Manchester City Centre, then the BritanniaHotel in Manchester cit centre seems to fit the bill. Unfortunately however, the rooms, atmosphere and general politeness of staff are somewhat lacking. I would recommend staying somwehere else, such as the Portland Thistle hotel next door, or the Piccadilly Gardens hotel (a short walk away). The Britannia does seem to attract most of the stag do's in town and irish football fans when Manchester United are playing at home. As beer on the hotel premises is so cheap, the hotel is very noisy at weekends into the early hours and there can be occasional bouts of trouble (the hotel has...

...The Brittania Hotel is right bank in the centre of the city, well almost. It is within a few yards of the main bus terminus and the Arndale centre which provedes plenty of shops if not the attraction that Trafford Park now is.
As a hotel it is comfortable and the food, although not out of the ordinary, is passable. However, it is a bustly sort of hotel with plenty of comings and goings. It certainly will not be a favourite of those of more mature years because of the noise and milling people. For some reason there always seems to be busy goings on around the foyer area.
It is quite a popular hotel because its rates are reasonable, particularly if you can get a deal. Do not be too shy to ask for special offers or weekend breaks. But be prepared to stay up late because the hotel has its own disco and is popular particularly...
