Rule Britannia!

Advantages: Cheap! Central Location.
Disadvantages: Soft Pillows, dirty bathroom.

expensive. So, it was time for some shopping around? Doing a load of searching and whatnot on Google, I stumbled upon this, the Britannia Hotel. Located down New Street, Birmingham, and at just £35 per night as the advanced fee ? it was a bargain. Finding The Hotel Being pretty poor at most sort of planning, I didn?t really take much note of exactly where the Hotel was, just that it was somewhere down New Street. So, it actually took us a bit of finding, but that was mainly due to us not knowing Birmingham at all. All I remember now, is it is next to Primark, so that?s that. The Room We had room 225, located right at the end of the maze-like corridor, on floor two. Opening the door, the room was pretty much how we expected it to be ? as basic as humanly possible. What a Dump

Advantages: none
Disadvantages: many

I had the misfortune to stay two weeks at the Cayman Islander. Superficially it looked quite good, but the experience was anything but. Having booked a twin room we were surprised to be escorted to a double room. Granted, the bed was six foot wide, but we were expecting two double beds, which is the norm for a twin room in the region. The manager assured us that they had no twin rooms but I have since met people who actually stayed in one. The maid service left a lot to be desired, she took a couple of hours to do little or nothing in our room, and we frequently got calls from the desk, asking us to pass messages to the maid. Our TV packed up after a couple of days and it took them over a week to fix it. I had to see the general manager before anything was done, and all they did then was swap it for one in a room that had just ...

Grand Cayman - pure paradise

Advantages: Beautiful clean beaches, clear water and nice weather.
Disadvantages: Can be expensive and over run from people from cruise liners.

I went to Grand Cayman last October and found it to be everything I'd imagined it to be. The beaches have lovely light coloured soft sand, beautiful clear waters and the snorkelling is fantastic. So many brightly coloured fish to see and reefs to explore. In October it is very hot there but there is the occasional downpour which tends to be very heavy. However, the rain does not last long and within half an hour everything is dry again. We stayed at a hotel called the Spanish Bay Reef which was excellent and is situatied at the north end of the island. The food was really good and they also laid on barbecues in the evenings on the beach. I would recommend avoiding staying at any of the hotels along seven mile beach. These hotels also cater for passengers visiting from the huge cruise liners that moor just off the island about 3 times ...
