Being a world traveller (blow my own trumpet) I shoudllike to share with you some experiences of the Budget flight world. While Easyjet seem to be the cheapest and Buzz offers the best in flight service, I thought I should draw you attention to BMI Baby, for all the wrong reasons.
Firstly who are they? Well with the boom of the budget flight world and all of the major operators offering some level of budget service, it was with some reluctance that British Midland Airways launched their new pet project, BMI Baby last year. Offering reduced fares to Europe from its moe midlands located airports, the BMI craze was supposed to catch on. Well, Im sorry to say, it hasn't yet and its not just down to location.
If you want to go and check oout their wibsite first, pop over to: http://www.flybmi.com/bmi/en-gb/index.aspx
I have experience with them after flying with them on business on 2 separate occasions. Firstly, I went from East Midlands Airport to Geneva. This won in the price stakes by a few pounds and was my company's excuse to use them. Plus, I had to see a client in Birmingham on the day before. The Flight Price was £30 and EasyJet came a close 2nd with £32. Not bad you think? Well, the flight was horrendous. Firstly, the check in desk was in little more than chaos. No organisation. I was suprised to see my luggage the other end. I was informed of a delay and recieved an apology. After being mre than an hour late for boarding, the confused crew were quite impolite and not courteous at all. These were obviously new recruits as they lacked the professionalism I have come to expect even on budget flights. The flight home too was delayed. I was told a plane had gone "tech" in England and a replacement was being ferried out. Not a good start.
The second flight was marginally better but I was stung thanks to the business times of flying. There are 2 flights a day to Brussels from East Midlands. The early flight to Brussels is £140 one way! flying form Geneva at this time is half price! It is cheaper to spend an extra night in Geneva and come back early!
Online booking is easy enough. There is a simplified booking process and I find it much easier to use than the buzz or Easyjet site. I think this is down to the lack of destinations. This is a big downfall of the airline. Due to coming on line much later, its choice of routes has been hampered by already successful flights leaving from other airlines. There are very few places to go to in Europe without a bit of hopping the other end. True the more common destinations are catered for but from obscure British Airports. Paris and Barcelona are covered but only from East Midlands or Leeds/Bradford? Come on! Still it is the Midlands airline and it is these people it caters for.
However, I am not a big fan due to the delays and unprofessional staff. The range of food and beverages available on board is expensive and not very testy or wide ranging. Also, the legroom is extremely cramped, even for a budget flight. They certainly cram you on.
All in all? One to avoid.

What is the basis of your comment about Safety being poor? As an employee of the airline I can assure you that safety is of the utmost importance to us.

Sounds awful! I only use Bristol, Cardiff and Gatwick so I have avoided this company:) -Jon
