Having travelled with the airline a couple of times i can tell you that the airline has undergone a change over the past year. Food and drink onboard are no longer free, they must be paid for although the upside is that fares have been reduced and it is now possible to get great deals to quite a few european cities. In general i would say the airlines fares are cheaper than BA and the airlines domestic network is far more extensive.
A flight with BMI: well it all starts at check in where with BMI this is all done youself using a self check-in machine. Now throught to the departures. As with all of my flights it was an on time departure so i would say that the airline is punctual. Arriving at the gate i found my aircraft which was looking very stylish in the new modern BMI look. Boarding, at the door i was welcomed by very smartly dressed cabin crew, even wearing hats! who were offereing free newspapers, nice touch! Taking my seat i found quite a nice amount of leg room, the planes were very nice! Overall i found the airline to have a very relaxed attitude to flying and i guess if i were a nervous passenger it would be quite calming. The captain had a quick chat with us before take-off and then we were in the air, very uneventfull flight and on time landing. Added bonus was the bags were already waiting for us a baggage reclaim!

I've flown with BMI on a number occassions I've always found their check in desk to be a right nightmare. At Heathrow it's a mad scrum and Manchester the queue for the transatlantic flights was out of the door! On the last flight I flow with them to Chicago - in cattle class - never ever again Leg room was questionable anyone 6 foot and above would have had bruises on their knees. The meals on board where poor, I ordered vegetarian meals and got vegan meals - there is alot of different I can tell you. My flight to chicago was actually late taking off in both directions.

Where did you go and how much did you pay for your flight? Disappointing you have to pay for food now, it was always a bonus when it was free.
