BWIA, British West Indian Airways, or commonly referred to as beewee is an airline that flies to the west indian islands about once a week from Heathrow.
This airline usually provide low cost flights to the west indies, and if you search for discounted air fares, you'll probably be offered a BWIA flight.
BWIA prices are much cheaper than the Major airlines that serve the same destinations, however, in this case you definately do get what you pay for!
When i last travelled to Antigua i flew with British Airways. My partner however, recently flew with beewee. It was our differing flying experiences to the same destination that promted me to write this opinion.
BWIA planes are, i am told, one of the safest and reliable makes of aircraft. (I think the man at heathrow called it a tristar). The onboard experience though appears to be quite different. The aisles are not spacious at all, and there is not even enough leg room to stretch your legs straight out in front of you. There are no complimentary drinks in flight; a single measure of rum cost $3 (US).
Compared to the excellent service, comfort and catering i got aboard BA i would personally prefer to pay the extra and have an enjoyable flight. After all, a flight from Heathrow, London to Antigua is 7hrs and 20 mins long. HOWEVER: for the price you are paying, usually as much as £300 cheaper than a BA flight, i would recommend flying with BWIA. Long hauls flights of this nature are rarely cheap with ANy other airline. Their staff are polite and helpful, and are good with kids. The departures are usually prompt and the service is reliable.
If you need to travel to the west indies on a budget, try bWIA, if you have money to splash, go elsewhere!!!

Seems like we might not be able to - with two planes grounded at Heathrow and 300 passengers currently stranded in Trinidad - rumours are starting they may have gone bust.
