My lovely husband booked a short stay in NewYork for my ?surprise? 30th birthday. This was in 2002 and we went there at the beginning of October of that year. Just as a side note before I start the review of the hotel, the weather was fantastic and for much of the time we went out regularly in T-shirts.
Anyway we stayed at The Bentley Hotel for the whole of our stay and overall we were impressed and enjoyed our time there.
**ABOUT THE HOTEL**
The Bentley is a 3 star hotel which was built in 1904 and last renovated in 2002, however I have a feeling some renovation may be going on now as the roof top restaurant has been closed until further notice.

My boyfriend turned 30 a few weeks ago and for his present I booked us a trip to NewYork and the Wellington Hotel is where I picked for us to stay due to its central location in Manhattan.
Last Wednesday we flew out to NYC and checked into the Wellington.
If you didn't know already this is where part of the Borat film was made, the main scene being where he tries to unpack his things in the lift thinking its his room and so many Borat jokes ensued in the elevators during our stay.
The location of the hotel is amazing, its a 1 minute walk from Carnegie Hall, 2 minutes from Central Park and 5 minutes from Times Square and is located on the corner of 55th Street and 7th Avenue. The placement of the hotel was my favourite thing about it as it was just so easy to walk to some of the city's best attractions from here.

Location
The Hudson is on west 58th street, which is about a 15 minute walk from Broadway. It is just round the corner from the southern edge of central park. Columbus circle subway station is just on the corner of the street.
Arriving:
We flew into NewYork a week before we checked into the Hudson - due to a complicated itinerary not a cock up, thank god! - and so took the opportunity to test put their customer service to the test! As we were taking several internal flights in the week before check in we did not want to carry 2 weeks worth of baggage around, when only a week of it would get worn.
