The village hotel & leisure club in Wirral.

Advantages: Clean and fresh
Disadvantages: Like a rabbit Warren

The village hotel & leisure club in Wirral Have recently joined here and at £32 per month, each, we feel we have a bargain. They even waved the joining fee, normally £70. We joined, my wife and I, on the ?Flexi? promotion. This is where you are only tied in for 3 months as opposed to the ?Full? 12 month tie in. Extras given include £15 to spend in their restaurants, 10% discounts in the bars and coffee shop and 2 free vouchers for friends/family. The vouchers entitle the user to a free week in the gym, pool etc worth £70. If you recommend someone and they join you also get £50 of a nights stay in the hotel. A fair few incentives but to be honest we just want to use the leisure facilities. My wife is recovering from Breast Cancer and she has some back problems resulting from the Radiography. She ...

Hotel with ghosts?

Advantages: Beautiful historic setting
Disadvantages: none.

a glacier during the Ice Age and legend has it that the Mermaid of the Black Rock sat on these . In 1911 the Trustees of the Railway Convalescent Homes bought the castle and remained the owners until 1970. Whilst the Wallasey Corporation owned the hotel I was growing up in the area and there where stories abound about murders and ghosts in the castle, secret passage ways with blood stains and much more, most due to rumour as generally the castle was not open to the public back then. ****What does Leasowe Castle offer us today**** Set back from the main road you have to pass through the wrought iron gates and along the drive which gives the hotel a grand ...

Blackburn Meadows Nature Reserve

Advantages: A Haven For Wildlife, Educational For Local Schoolchildren
Disadvantages: Industrial Location, Some Vandalism

Trusts, Yorkshire Water, Sheffield City Council, Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council, South Yorkshire Forest Partnership, the Countryside Agency and Magna Science Adventure Centre. Once the area had been designated a Nature Reserve the consortium acted quickly to save some of the lagoons that were beginning to dry up and some of the pathways were cleared to make the area more attractive to visitors. Today Blackburn Meadows is a popular attraction for families picnicking during the summer as well as an all year round haunt for birdwatchers. There are wooden hides that overlook the various lagoons and these are full of nesting birds during the Summer and wintering wildfowl during the Winter. The areas between these consist of shrub and grassland and during the Summer these fields are full of Butterflies, Dragonflies, Damselflies ...
