the south side of Edinburgh, close to the University and the Old Town and just 1.5 miles south of the city centre. We have a small private car park and there is ample, free, unrestricted, side street parking. A ten-minute ride on one of the many buses that pass the door will take you to the heart of Scotland's beautiful capital.Graham and Carole extend a warm and friendly welcome to their family run guest house. Double, twin and family rooms are available, all en-suite. Each room has colour TV, tea & coffee facilities, radio/alarm clock and hairdryer.
Advantages: Not far from Edinburgh Centre, very clean. Disadvantages: Rooms a bit small
...The Strathallan Guest House in Mintoe Street, Edinburgh, is a very friendly and comfortable stay. It is a family run establishment in a large double fronted house, ten minutes walk from central Edinburgh. Although the rooms have had en-suites built into them, reducing the room size, they are still very clean and comfortable. The owner is very accomodating and breakfast is as much or as little fried food as you can manage as well as fruits and cereals. All in all a lovely guest house, which I would recommend to anyone. I will definitely be returning there....

Advantages: So Much to See and Do. Something for everyone. Disadvantages: It took me six months to write about it! Not a cheap family destination.
...Tour ticket – again it lasts 24 hours, but you can only hop on and off the MacTours bus – which is easily recognisable as it is an old London bus – yes a re-engined Routemaster!
Bearing in mind that Edinburgh’s attractions are priced in line with those in London, the “Royal Edinburgh Ticket” looks a particularly good deal. This allows you unlimited travel on the busses for two days – as well as free admission to The Royal Yacht Britannia, Holyrood House and Edinburgh Castle.
Prices for that are: £34.00 Adults, Senior & Students £27.00, child (5 to 15) £13.00.
WHAT IS THERE TO SEE AND DO ON A DAY OUT IN EDINBURGH?
Notice there that RICHADA carefully side-steps the issue of nightlife, of which I am sure there is plenty! However I am not going write about something of which we have no experience, so, this section will be looking...

K is for KINGS THEATRE
There are several theatres in Edinburgh, befitting a city so dedicated to the Arts. Okay, so I couldn’t think of another ‘K’! (Someone will, no doubt, offer a much better alternative!) Find out more about them at:

I love Malmaison's brasseries. The boutique hotel chain's eateries have a really fantastic buzz about them. I think the atmosphere that they have managed to achieve is mainly due to their amazing ability to hire incredibly nice people.
