We stayed in the Novotel on a recent short break to Brugge. It is easy to find and ideally situated for exploring the city. The hotel is in a square near to the Ibis Hotel on one of the main roads into the city. It is hidden from view to preserve the character of the area. There is a nearby underground car park with easy access to the hotel. The hotel itself is fairly new. It is clean and well equipped. There are approximately 200 rooms on 4 floors. ...
...supply of toiletries provided. There is a mini bar, but unfortunately, no tea or coffe making facilities. Facilities at the hotel include a Restaurant, Bar and outdoor heated Swimming pool. The only drawback is that the pool is closed between October and May. Service at the hotel is friendly and all staff speak English. Thay are very helpfull and a credit to this hotel chain. ...is a great little European hotel - I would definitely recommend it for a city break in this wonderful city! We recently stayed here for my first wedding anniversary. We booked through Last Minute.com and got a package including first class Eurostar, and three nights bed and breakfast here for £190 each which was great value. The hotel has been recently done up so is really smart - we had a lovely downstairs right on the canal (you had to shut your curtains or the boat tours could see in) - I checked when we did our boat tour!!! The only problem with the room was that in true European style there is no bathroom door - only a screen. ...Bruges.We arrived at the 3star hotel after a difficult journey from Inverness (that's another story!) at about 6pm.Upon entering the hotel we were greeted by the strong aroma of DOG and stale cigarette smoke. We have nothing against dogs or smokers per se but it was not a good start!Our 'room' was on the first floor up a very steep stair. The room contained 2 twin beds and en-suite bath, wash basin and toilet - all as originally booked.We were shocked ...
...dust and hair were on the floor under our beds, the fittings in the room I guess, were quite old and dated and the 'style' of light fittings above the beds were 1970/80's and the red paint paint was flaking off (due to the bulb heat).The bathroom was a real disgrace ! -The washbasin had several large cracks in the enamel (very unhygienic), the shower attachment (above the bath) had no wall bracket, the shower gel dispenser was empty and was covered ... A Beautiful hotel in a perfect location; central and just minutes away from the main sqaure. The hotel overlooks a very pretty canal and we had de-luxe rooms with canal views. Sumptuous rooms, plenty of space and every possible extra. Delicious breakfasts. ...had misread the email from Best Western and had only reserved a double room rather than a family room. She couldn't stop apologising and offered to put an extra bed in our room. To be honest that was all we expected when booking a triple room. This was dealt with immediately and a porter was dispatched. ...quickly so we made our escape upstairs before it was taught anything else! Room There are 48 rooms over 2 floors, served by 2 large lifts. Even with 'grumpies' extra bed the room was large and well furnished. Plenty of room for all three of us. It contained the usual furniture with the added bonus of a small table and chairs, air conditioning and tea and coffee making facilities. It was well kept and well decorated.
