Brunei???...Be different...
Advantages: Very affordable, Clean, Safe and beaches Disadvantages: Not so much nightlife available
I am disappointed with the review made by the people above...needless to say I am a bruneian so before i start, i must say i will try not to be biased!!!...
For me holiday is a time when we can spent doing activities that we usually do not have time to pursue. So there are trips for partying, shopping and relaxing.
If what you are looking for is drunken nights and partying at the clubs then you might as well do not bother coming to brunei. What ... ...I mean if what you are looking in a country of your holiday is the availability of alcohol then Brunei is definitely not the suitable holiday destination. Don't you find it boring to see stuff that you can see back home?
What I am trying to say is Brunei might not have the drinks and not a shopping heaven like SIngapore but what we can offer is the relaxing type of holiday.
Brunei is lucky because we still have large parts of the country covered ...

Brunei Darussalam - the abode of peace
Advantages: a good place to visit Disadvantages: not a great deal of attractions
Bandar Seri Begawan, the capital of Brunei Darussalam is a very interesting place to visit. Most people arrive by air and the well appointed airport is only 15 minutes from the city. Most hotels will provide a transfer, with exception of the only true budget option which is the local youth hostel. Apart from that you can expect to pay in excess of 25 pounds per night, with prices rising to hundred of pounds for the empire resort. There asre buses ... ...budget end of things in Bandar and in my opion the best option is the Jubilee hotel - relatively cheap at 26 pounds but well appointed with various facilites and in a good location. Of course if you fancy splaching out there are a plethora of places to do so, especially the Empire esort, created by the Sultans brother.
Eating in Bandar is no problem either as there are plenty of informal hawaker places or if you fancy something a little mroe special ...

Between the river and the sea
Advantages: Very interesting geography Disadvantages: not much to do
Pantai Seri Kenangan is more commonly known amongst foreigners as Pantai Tutong, or Tutong Beach. Tutong Town is between Brunei Seri Bagawan and Seria, on the South China Sea coast. The beach is out of town, and signposted. You need to have car transport to get there. The most interesting thing about the beach is its geography. The beach is on a narrow strip of land which on one side faces the sea, and on the other side faces a river. At the end ... ...can walk right to the end and see the different colours of water mingling together. The landstrip really is narrow. In most places it is just wide enough for a house with a good sized garden each side, and a road down the middle.
The beach is lovely - pale sand, overhanging palm trees. But you need to watch out for mosquitoes, sandflies and far worse, killer jellyfish in the season. Take advice before you go in the water. When we went there was ...

The Park!!!
Advantages: Lots of Fun Disadvantages: Fees
Although the amusement park is no longer free, it is still worth the trip. Not all of the rides are working but the ones that are still do manage to take your breath away. The prices for the rides are reasonable and although you can spend as much as you want, you could also go to the park with a budget and have a good time. If you decide to go to the park, I would recommend the drop, the rollercoaster and breakdance. Breakdance is a strenuous ride ... ...seems to be an eternity but if you manage to ride it without puking up, you will be held in great esteem by your friends forever.
While you are at the park, you should also make it a point to go watch the Dancing Fountain. It is a fountain that "dances" to music as well as having a laser show. It is a lot more interesting than it sounds and you will be amazed when you see it. ...

MORE THAN YOU WOULD EXPECT BUT NOT BY MUCH.
Advantages: Beautiful tropical forests. Disadvantages: No booze, so no nightlife at all.
It's not often you come across people who have visited Brunei or have it on their list of places to go. Nine times out of ten if you do meet people who have been you will soon realise that they were their visiting friends or relatives, usually on their way elsewhere.
The main reason people dont want to go is because their is no booze, which follows that there is no nightlife and as such the tourism industry there is not that stronge. This being ... ...that its Sultan was once the richest man in the world. This stands to reason as the average holiday brochure does not feature Brunei except for maybe on a borneo adventure.
It seems that over the past few years the Brunei goverment has made a big effort to attract tourists with competitive packages and high class hotels but to date they seem still to have fallen short, more people have heard of Brunei but still few wish to go.
I would say Brunei ...
