Charleroi Airport: An overview

Advantages: Easy to get to. Cheap flights with Ryanair
Disadvantages: Very small. Not many facilities. Long queues on arrival

...from Gare du Midi in Brussels 2 and 1/2 hours before each flight) and by train ( From Gare du Midi to Charleroi Sud station and then a 12 minute bus link to the airport). The airport itself is pretty tiny with only a handful of check-in desks; therefore expect long queues! In terms of facilities it has a small paper shop, a variety of vending machines and a couple of small self service cafes and a tiny duty free shop. If you think you will want a ...
...to fully check in until you have paid. The Ryanair bus to Brussels costs 10 euros each way- be prepared for a rough journey as the drivers can be quite manic! All in all, a very small airport with few amenities but clean and with easy transfers to Brussels. ...

Explore all Europe in one morning

Advantages: Great models, informative, lots of variety
Disadvantages: Relentlessly pro-European, little shelter in the rain

Bruparck is a leisure complex on the Heysel plateau, comprising 5 main attractions: The Atomium Océade - a big swimming pool complex Kinepolis - a 30 screen multiplex cinema, including an IMAX, showing films in English with subtitles, as well as dubbed into French Mini-Europe – which will be the main subject of this review The Village – this is a complex of restaurants, ranging from fast food to more traditional Belgian bistros and restaurants ...
...play area. MINI-EUROPE In short Mini-Europe is a theme park in the shadow of the Atomium, where you can walk past 1/25 scale models of many of the great buildings of Europe. In addition to looking at the model buildings, there is an interactive exhibition about the European Union, a cafeteria and a gift shop. THE BUILDINGS The models are the star of the show. The original selection of buildings was made back in 1987 by a committee of art historians. ...

What A Load Of Balls...

Advantages: piece of history, easy to get to, looking good outside
Disadvantages: boring , stairs, bad if you're not good with stairs or are disabled, did I mention stairs?

...signposts directing you towards the Atomium, a quick check of the local landscape should give you some indication which way to head. The metro and tram stations are locate next to each other and if you need to get back into Brussels fast, the tram may be your better option. You really can't miss the structure, it sticks out like a sore thumb. After all, who can miss 9 ruddy great big balls suspended in mid air? The Atomium has undergone refurbishment ...
...unless you are visiting the Atomium, where you are stuck in a time warp in the 1950s. The top sphere is split into two levels, the panorama platform where you can slowly walk around and have a good view over Brussels and, on a good day, probably the whole country. The upper level is the restaurant and can be reached by another staircase. The restaurant is normally self service but on the say we visited it was closed. They had taken enough bookings ...

Brussels Modernized Airport

Advantages: New Modern and easy to follow signs.
Disadvantages: You have to walk forever to pick up luggage.

Brussels has an excellent airport. After being there twice, I've got to admit that it is a very nice, modern and clean airport. Everything is new, spacious and always clean. The multi storey building is gorgious with a very interesting desin to it. The escalator section is open throughout all the floors. This adds a very open space design technique to it that helps people feel better. The Boarding Gates, lucky there is all those magic carpets, or ...
...plane. Overall though, Brussels Airport was fantastic. It was clean, spacious and I felt very safe in it. The only thing is the piccking up of the luggage, maybe if it would be closer it would be a better idea. I'm young and I can still walk up and down, but for those that have problems walking it must take forever. ...

Well worth it

Advantages: Not always necessary to book, excellent stylists
Disadvantages: Pricey - but worth it.

Guillaume Senechal on Avenue Louise is a quality hairdresser for men and women. Appointments are available but I'd recommend booking. The staff understand English haircuts and are usually bi or tri lingual. There is even a bar for whilst you are waiting. You are thoroughly pampered, and whilst it costs about 18 pounds for a basic wet cut, they take time over it and it looks impeccable for at least a week afterwards. They sorted out my hair after ...
