Five Star Luxury Hotel Advantages: Walking distance to the fashionable shopping district of Avenue Louise. Disadvantages: A long walk to the Grand Place where many eating places are based. This impressive hotel located on the Avenue Louise was close to Brussels' most fashionable shopping district. The 5 star Hotel Bristol Stephanie is ideally situated for both business and leisure travellers. The hotel offers 142 spacious bedrooms (Classic and Executive), a restaurant « Le Chalet d'Odin », a bar « Stefany's », conference and banqueting rooms, a fitness centre and an underground parking. A great base for exploring Brussels Advantages: Great location, comfortable rooms, excellent food Disadvantages: Expensive if not arranged as part of a package I recently spent a weekend at this hotel on a budget break I'd arranged through lastminute.com. I must say I was incredibly impressed by the standard of the hotel for something that I had paid so little for. The location is perfect. The hotel is situated on Place de Grande Sablon - home of the famous Sablon antique market at the weekends. The architecture of the surrounding area makes this an Art Nouveau lover's paradise. The marbled entrance lobby to the hotel is flanked by opulent antique shops that convey a sense of grandeur as you enter the building. Reception staff were very helpful. Superb receptionists pave the way Advantages: good value, great receptionists, comfy beds and decent breakfast choice Disadvantages: view from bedroom, but who cares? You're there to explore, not sit in your room! For all potential guests here be aware that there are mixed reviews about this place on other sites. Having read many of them I can honestly say that they were accurate on the part of good reviews, and petty on the part of the negative reviews. Each to their own experience though. No Customer Care Advantages: Clean Disadvantages: In the middle of sex shops and aopposite a seedy all night club ...for 3 nights at this hotel Thursday Friday and Saturday as a treat for my husbands Birthday, I phoned on the Monday before our travel, and asked if there was anything special that they could recommend to make our stay extra special as it was my husbands birthday, they suggested that I could have flowers, fruits, chocolates and champagne waiting in our room for our arrival, and all they needed in advance was an email stating our expected date and ... ...with this being a 5* hotel that everything would be ok. Five star luxury in the hear of Brussels Advantages: Location, size, quality service and comfort Disadvantages: Some will not like the limited facilities ...fortunate enough to stay at Le Meridien, in Brussels a few weeks back after winning a competition. It was a novel situation all round as I would not normally be able to afford to stay at this quite exclusive establishment on my travel and subsistence budget and, even if I were I would be too busy to appreciate my surroundings. I do visit Brussels a lot for work and have stayed in many hotels (I reviewed the Welcome Hotel a while back and this remains ... ...while. Ownership The Le Meridien chain is managed by the US based Starwood Group. This also includes the Sheraton, Westin and St Regis chains amongst others.
