5 star luxury for 3 star price Advantages: luxurious, great value, top service, Disadvantages: a little far out from the main square Renaissance hotel Rue du Parnasse 19 Brussels, 1050 Belgium This 5 star Renaissance hotel was outstanding value for money! Location The renaissance hotel is located in the European quarter of the city. This is fairly quiet on weekends with the European parliament and surrounding offices being closed. Wonderful Anniversary at the Conrad Brussels Advantages: Immaculate Accommodation. Superb Staff. Excellent ambience. Attention to detail. Disadvantages: It's not usually cheap, but some great deals can be found - as we did. ...twelfth wedding anniversary at the Conrad for some time and we were certainly in no way disappointed. It being our wedding anniversary, and being a Hilton Hhonors Gold VIP member, we were given a free upgrade to an absolutely superb duplex suite at an astonishingly good rate, although it is clear that any room at this hotel would be delightful; it's known for its very spacious, well-furnished rooms. Basic rooms are 42 square metres - yet our suite ... ...The rack rate was 1150 Euros. The Euro is very much on a par with the US Dollar. We were absolutely delighted! Two nights in a duplex suite, a bottle of champagne on ice, international telephone call from our room, delivered breakfast and a room-service pizza late at night all came to less than 425 Euros, and that is, as I've said, pretty much on a par with the dollar. Luxury hotel, great weekend rates Advantages: Central location, bargain weekend rates include excellent buffet breakfast Disadvantages: Rooms slightly on the small size. Expensive to stay during the week ...picturesque main square. The Royal Windsor offers all the trappings of a high-class hotel: 24 hour room service, fitness club, laundry service, garage, sauna etc. etc. The multi-channel TV has pay-per-view movies and even the UK channels BBC 1 & 2. The en-suite bathrooms are well equipped and the bedrooms are generally very nice if a little on the small size. I found the room got a little stuffy but the windows can be opened and it is not too noisy ... ...enough to be assigned one of the rooms on the Godiva floor then not only do you get an even more opulent room you also get free box of Godiva chocolates - alas, having booked two rooms, only one was on this floor. The bargain weekend rate also includes a buffet breakfast; if you are used to these being miserable affairs tucked away in a windowless basement away from the proper restaurant then you are in for a very pleasant surprise. If you hadn’t guessed it, it is part of the Radisson SAS chain of hotels, so if you’re looking for a local hotel with personality, this is not the place for you.
