Szechenyi Spa a must for everybody to visit

Advantages: great for your health
Disadvantages: none

...foreigners but this takes time. Szechenyi is a winter experience that must not be missed. Staff are now speaking a little English which is amazing really as Hungarian neighbors are not English speaking so in the last 4 years things have changed considerably. I really prefer the locker rooms rather than the cubicles which become a hassle if you need to go back and forward for any reason, Personal belongings are very safe and the staff are very friendly, ...
...Drinks and snacks are available to be consumed beside the pool or an inside cafe available for those wearing wet costumes which is very handy. I have noticed more children, including very young children, using the outside pool even using rubber rings and swimming aids. I do not think a 38c water temperature spa pool which is not for swimming is suitable for children. ...

Always Hot.

Advantages: Great view for spectators.
Disadvantages: Little overtaking.

The temperature at the Hungaroring circuit for the F1 Grand Prix is always hot. The track is about ten miles from Budapest and is situated in a natural bowl, which always makes a great spectacle for the spectators. The Hungarian Grand Prix is the largest spectator event in Hungary and so it is very important for the country. It is not unusual to see the hierarchy of the F1 organisation bestowed with honours from the country to help ensure the Grand ...
...not produce the best racing of the year as the circuit is very slow and there is little chance of any overtaking. (Only Monaco is more difficult to overtake at.) There are no real straights on this circuit and the drivers are nearly always turning a corner. Each lap is 3.9Km and the Grand Prix race is over 77 laps. The race normally runs for about an hour and three quarters and in time this makes the race one of the longest in the Grand Prix calendar. ...

House of Hungarian Wines Szentharomsag ter 6. Budapest 1014 Tel: + 36 (1) 212 10 31 Translation: Magyar Borok Haza http://www.magyarborokhaza.hu/index.php?selectlang=EN This is self-guided wine tasting tour is in a celler located on the Buda side of the city close to Fisherman's Bastion and the Hilton Hotel. It is one of the more expensive attractions in the city at about HUF4000 (approx £10) to get in. It is open throughout the week but closes ...
...cheaper than a bottle of House wine in most UK restaurants, and you get to try so many wines. If you are visiting Budapest, then this is an attraction with a difference, and although not cheap, ultimately offers good value for wine drinkers. We visited on a Saturday at about 6.15pm and although there were several other small groups there we didn't really get in each others way, as you just skipped to the next section if people are there and backtracked ...

Hungary 2001 SCHhumachers 4th Championship Title

Advantages: highdown force circuit, demanding track, probably cheaper than other Grand prix's
Disadvantages: track is bumpy, dusty, can be hot, boring - no overtaking

...and has been hosting the Formula 1 Grand Prix’s since 1986. It comprises of 77 laps with many sharp twisting turns and sweeping curves, about 14 turns in all, so that’s a whole lot of gear changes! It is not a high-speed circuit. It is not the most popular of circuits as its known to be quite hot, dusty and bumpy which is very hard on both the cars and the drivers. This circuit is a high downforce circuit just like Monaco. It is a demanding ...
...how points earned in a Formula 1 race its as follows: winning = 10 points, 2nd place = 6 points, 3rd place gets = 4 points, 4th place =3 points, 5th place= 2 points and lastly 6th place= 1 point. Anyone finishing beyond 6th position will not receive any points. After the Hungaroing there are still 4 races left in this years race season, so all is not over yet for the other drivers and reams. David Coulthard had to win this race to stand a tiny hope ...

Terror House, commemorating victims of oppression in Hungary

Advantages: Good exhibits and broad coverage of the history
Disadvantages: Political bias, English explanations could be better

...a beautiful, elegant building Terror House is impossible to miss. The building hs a large grey metal strip attatched to the top and letters reading TERROR HOUSE stamped out of it in imposing block script. If the aim is to make the house which served as the headquarters of the Red Arrow Party (Hungarian Fascists) and then the Hungarian Communist Party stand out then it is certainly successful. However, I couldn't help but feel that it was also a little ...
...in those times' (terrorHaza.hu/museum). The house has been gutted and redesigned inside so that the visiter works from the groundfloor, through connecting rooms that work gradually forward in time. When you reach the top a lift takes you down to the dungeon which is the only part kept as it was and has the cells and living spaces of many people kept and tortured by the secret police, including Imre Nagy. The museum does cover the two regimes in question ...
