This is not a review designed for the ratings, so please don't rate this review for fullness. I have not stayed at the Patricia Hotel, only passed by several times in a car. This "review" is designed to be a WARNING for all visitors to Vancouver who do not know their way around, and are unaware of the different neighborhoods that comprise the city.
The Patricia Hotel is located on East Hastings, in the heart of the junkie/prostitution section of town. If you insist on staying where the rates are low, make sure you are staying with someone big and strong, or simply don't want to leave the hotel at night.
This neighborhood is so bad that, driving through it, you see crack addicts searching the sidewalks for a little hit of something when they are short of cash.
Nothing against the company--a friend of mine worked in the bar there and said she had a strange sort of fun. In fact, if you are a first time visitor to Vancouver and like to live a bit on the edge, it's a short walk from Gastown for an AFTERNOON beer.
The ratings below are mandatory: they DO NOT REFLECT the hotel in any way, as I have never stayed in a room there.

Su as it does mention the hotel in part, if only the location. I think this might have been better placed in a more general category with more about Vancouver added, though.
