I loved this show... The atmosphere is great from when you enter the hall at the start - with the 'Y'all Come' song played by the band. You get free cowboy hats and are seated in rows around a huge auditorium in your 'teams'. The show is a sort of run through of a cowboy vs indians scene. You'll find Texas cowboys, Sioux and Apache tribe members, bison, pinto ponies and even a performing brahma bull. During the show, there is crowd participation and food is served. You get a basket of authentic breads, then chicken legs, sausages, ribs, potatoes, chilli con carne and apple cobbler for dessert with ice cream. There are unlimited refills of beer and fizzy juice - then after, there is tea or coffee. The food is not the very best, but its good food, and when your feeding hundreds of folk it can't be easy!!
Some people may say its too expensive, but for 50 odd euros you are getting a two hour show with fantastic live actors and horses, you have an entire night worth of entertainment, and you get your evening meal to boot.
Over the years the show has been made up from authentic stars including Rod Rondeaux and Burt Hairgrove.
Rondeaux has made a career out of being killed and maimed in movies and TV shows. He was stabbed to death by Will Smith, who killed him with a knife concealed in his boot in "The Wild, Wild West." Rondeaux is one of the few Native Americans working Hollywood's most dangerous trade, he originally went for the part in the show after missing a plane to a rodeo in South Dakota, and his sister pointed out the auditions in a local paper. He started out as a one of the core riders and eventually worked his way up to the featured role as Sitting Bull.
Trick-rope artist Hairgrove had been roping since the age of ten. He is a native Texan who grew up on land that was homesteaded by his family in 1859 and learned to rope from his father. Entering his first rodeo at age ten and roping competitively through high school and college, Burt gradually transformed his love for roping into a career in entertainment. There are no "trick ropes" here, Burt uses the real thing, the same ropes used on live cattle. Imagine the sixty-foot rope spinning gracefully around Burt's horse as he lopes around the arena or, standing in the saddle as he performs a series of rollovers and ocean waves. Burt's has even performed at The White House to the President!
Along with the stars, the sets and music create the atmosphere. George Fenton, composed the score for Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show, recreating the experience of the famous world traveling show of Buffalo Bill. The dinner show was created exclusively for the Disneyland Resort Paris and opened together with the resort on April 12, 1992. It is still going strong after 15 Years of performances! I highly recommend this and would pay to see it again!
