Advantages: Erm, it's got lots of trees??? Disadvantages: the mosquitoes, and if you like wierd icky crawly things
...BukitTimahNatureReserve - BTNR for short, in my way of writing, is absolutely a place where I wouldn't reall want to go. Singapore's tallest natural landmark - about 160 meters tall, well, sort of. I prefer the artificial ones more. They are more comfortble, at least. But if you'd like to go for a nature walk it's a nice place to go, in the evening. In the afternoon the hot sun would probably turn one into a piece of barbequed meat. Also, the mosquitoes are rmapant there, I expect, since it's in a water catchment area, Singapore having little water of its own. I'd advise one to bring lots of mosquito repellent, and be careful of large wierd insects. We're all so civilized and clean now. I think most people would baulk at going into a place like that....

Advantages: Rare bit of Forest, Interesting wildlife, Nice Birds Disadvantages: Hot & Humid, watch out for mosquitoes
...BukitTimahNatureReserve in Hindhede Drive,Singapore is reputed to be one of only two rainforests in the world
within city boundaries - the other happens to be in Rio de Janeiro.
First the good news, rain forest it may be but getting to BukitTimah is a breeze-take the TIBS bus no 171 from
Newton MRT station.Second, some more good news, admission to the NatureReserve is free and it is open daily
from 7 am to 7 pm and you should allow at least three hours to get round it.
Now for some bad news - you will find it rather hot and humid walking about during the day and watch out for
the mosquitos-particularly the little ones ,they seem to like the blood of caucasians very much.
Having got there what can you expect ? Well this is a surprisingly large reserve-it extends over more than 160 hectares. At the very heart of the reserve...

Advantages: Clean, multi cultural Disadvantages: Humid
...of hydro-slides and pool, which are really exciting. There are slides that you go in boats down, simulating rapids, speed slides that you go on mats down and the usual scarifying and horrifying twisters. But one of the best and definitely the most relaxing attractions is the stream, which slowly drags you around the whole park on a rubber ring.
JURONG BIRD PARK
Another great animal attraction. The highlight for me was having parrots sit on my arms and shoulders as I got my picture taken. Lots of colourful parrots, flamingoes and other rare birds.
We also visited the BukitTimahNatureReserve and the Singapore Zoo. If you are an animal person, I highly recommend you go to the Singapore zoo. It is very different and a lot more interesting than other zoos namely London Zoo and other zoos in England.
There are many other lovely places to visit...
