Great week in Bansko at Chalet Jora

Advantages: Great prices, good snow, fantastic chalet (Chalet Jora)
Disadvantages: Some unfinished buildings near the gondola.

...Alps. There are plenty of runs for beginners and intermediates but only a couple of black runs. Jay showed us some great off piste areas though and there's always the park if you fancy doing some tricks. I'd definitely recommend Bansko and Chalet Jora for a great snow holiday. ...

Borovets

Advantages: it's skiing!
Disadvantages: not enough culture

...at fartherst, all of which can be reached by taxi or horse and cart(a nice traditional element, if slightly smelly). The hotels range from the imposing communist styled 'Samako' to the quaint little 2/3 star ones further away. The ones like the Samako have everything from a bar to a shooting range, whereas if all you want is a few drinks before a quiet night I would recommend one of the smaller ones. Review of Borovets

Our best bulgarian holiday yet.

Advantages: On the beach, Extensive grounds, Fantastic food.
Disadvantages: could have better outside evening entertainment.

Bulgaria - Sooner rather than Later

Advantages: cheap, interesting
Disadvantages: terrible coffee

We decided to visit Bulgaria this year as it looked cheap, interesting culturally and likely to still be warm in October when we had to travel.Never having been to a Balkan country before it seemed like a good choice. Review of General: Bulgaria

Sofia so good!

Advantages: Not too busy, good value for money, green
Disadvantages: Not many "attractions", not much for children

Our visit to Sofia didn't get off to an auspicious start. The other half spent the eve of the trip throwing up in the only bathroom of a hostel in Veliko Tarnovo and we would have stayed there another day to permit his recuperation had we not already reserved and paid for our tickets to the capital.
