I am 64years old, married with 2 daughters and 1 granddaughter. I love my holidays both at home and abroad. I retired from my job as an insurance services admin supervisor 4 years ago, and am now enjoying some 'me' time at long last.

Went to these bungalows in Puerto del Carmen in May 2006. They were recommended but have now been refurbished and it is possibly the nicest small complex in the resort. The decor is superb, I can understand the deposit of 150 euros, it would be a great pity to spoil these beautiful rooms. The deposit is not necessarily required in cash, a credit card receipt can be made out and then destroyed when you check out as long as all is OK.
The position is great, on the sea front near to the Casino, on the sea side of the road. This means that most of the rooms face the sea with a short path down to the rocky shore. The patios have a wind-out awning and are very private, a wonderfully peaceful place to sit with a drink at the end of the day.
The rooms are beautifully decorated and furnished, and there is a small open-air laundry area with a sink and drying line. there are both one and two bedroom apartments available, with either pool, or sea view, or some overlook the pool and out to sea as well.
The lack of entertainment would put many people off, but I would say that the majority of guests were either families with small children, or older couples. Many guests had booked at least 12 months in advance as we had. I believe it is somewhat difficult to get in if you leave it until later.
We enjoyed our week in Puerto del Carmen, although the resort is now looking a little tired in the cold light of day. There are many bars and restaurants to choose from , and we didn't have any dodgy meals! The position in the middle of the sea front means that is it fairly easy to walk to the harbour, or to Pocillos, or even Matagorda.
All in all a good week's holiday.

I would have liked to Know how many travelled and who you booked through. Also cost would be good. Nice review anyway.

I found Puerto del Carmen a little tired looking as well when I last visited Lanzarote. Costa Teguise seemed a lot more modern and fresher looking. Lexy
