Burger King, Edinburgh

Burger King, Edinburgh

I have spent a week researching this opinion, trying out burgers and chips, seeing what the service is like and generally comparing McDonald's and Burger King to decide who really is the best. I can say now that I have come to a conclusion, but that comes later! I must say here that neither ... Read review

The King of all Burgers

Advantages: Great Burgers
Disadvantages: Dirty?

...and generally comparing McDonald's and Burger King to decide who really is the best. I can say now that I have come to a conclusion, but that comes later!

I must say here that neither of them were too bad, but somehow they both seemed to lack on some of my criteria, but it's time to get to work and decide who really is the champion of the fast-food restaurants according to my tough judgement!

Burger King has some toilets which look reasonable, but the sinks are far too small - you can't get your hands in! However, the store is generally pretty dirty, with plenty of chewing gum underneath tables and mess on the floor. And there seems to be a bin shortage, too.

McDs is at a serious disadvantage - thay have no toilet! However, there are plenty of bins and you'll also find the store is significantly ... more

Old fashioned drinking at its best!

Advantages: central, friendly, good range of drinks
Disadvantages: occasionally busy

The Guildford is one of Edinburgh's bset pubs, located right in the heart of the city centre at the east end (behind Burger King, if you are having problems finding it!). It is a true Victorian gem, with great woodwork, tiling and a gleaming well-stocked bar! If you are into real ales, this place is great, as it always has a selection of the more obscure beers, in addition to a good range of the more usual pints. There is no particular 'crowd' who frequent this pub, it is equally popular with tourists and locals, young and old. Although it can get busy after work on a Friday, it never feels too cramped and has lots of cosy corners. Anytime you want a decent drink in a friendly, unhurried atmosphere, give the Guildford a look! ...

Getting High in Edinburgh

Advantages: Convenient location...for me
Disadvantages: Lack of destinations

the Mall of America. Among others, there are branches of Boots, Tie Rack, Thorntons and Dixons as well as a small outlet for Jenners - Scotland's premier department store. ? EATING & DRINKING ? Ubiquitous coffee shops abound, in particular Costa, and there is the Granada Food village, which features: La Brioche Doree, Burger King, Franklins of Boston and Village Grill. There's also a JD Wetherspoons. After security, there's another couple of Costas and two Wetherspoons outlets. ? HOTELS ? The Edinburgh airport Hilton Hotel is a few hundred metres from the terminal. It has 134 rooms, restaurant, conference facilities and a full leisure centre. The Quality Hotel is a little further away at around 800m distant. ? DESTINATIONS ? It's possible to fly to most, if not all of the UK's major airports from Edinburgh, as ...
