Urban Legend or not? I've heard lots ... ...given the queues in the Burger Kings in Newcastle is not a problem for most of the purchasers or Burger Kings products.
In Newcastle we are lucky that we have lots of alternatives to this sort of place, so try and avoid them if you can.
Yes you can take stuff out, yes you can get food "quickly", yes you can sit in on their plastic chairs, and eat out of your Styrofoam boxes and drink from your Styrofoam cups ... more
***** DO NOT READ THIS IF YOU HAVE A WEAK STOMACH ****
I have an aversion to these fast food types of places as you may have gathered from the ops that I've written. Many of my friends frequent them on a daily basis because they are fast, convenient and cheap. A couple of things in the last few months have just emphasised my resolve to avoid these types of places unless the only alternative is starvation.

Urban Legend or not? I've heard lots of stories about the horrors of people buying food at these sort of places which contain "unwanted" extras. The worst I heard of was someone who had purchased and Chicken type burger. They bit into it and returned it because they had requested "no mayonnaise". You know what's coming don't you? The "mayonnaise" was in fact secretions of pus caused by cancerous growths in the chicken. Scary or what.

A recent survey of one hundred burgers from all suppliers discovered traces of animal faeces in every burger. This should not be surprising as basically these companies define beef as any part of the animal (brains, eyes, tongue and anything that the animal contains at the time of its processing). The other thing to remember is that we use lots of horse poo to make our rhubarb grow, so no doubt , maybe some organic produce may contain similar traces.
This sort of thing is only "allegedly" true , to "allegedly" quote Ian Hislop, and given the queues in the Burger Kings in Newcastle is not a problem for most of the purchasers or Burger Kings products.

Yes you can take stuff out, yes you can get food "quickly", yes you can sit in on their plastic chairs, and eat out of your Styrofoam boxes and drink from your Styrofoam cups , but can you seriously claim to enjoy it?
Lunch alternative in Newcastle
Burger King Burger Meal with Fries and Soft Drink around 4 GBP
Gershwins 2 course gourmet meal (See previous op for details) with large glass of wine 4.95 GBP
Is there any competition really
Sorry if I made you sick, but if we don't support the alternatives Burger King will run and run
Advantages: Very spacious and comfortable Disadvantages: Sill fairly limited number of destinations
Newcastle has grown in recent years into a sizeable international airport. It now serves a reasonable number of holiday destinations by chartered flights including all the major Spanish resorts and others like Florida, Cyprus, Italy (Naples), Turkey and a new service to Dubrovnik in Croatia. I have used it recently for a flight to Brussels with Sabena.
Now I am not saying I am the worlds most travelled person but I have been through a number of different airports in my time. Frankly there is little to choose between any of them. They all feel like, well, airports. They are usually hugely buildings which are like aeroplane hangers with carpoets and a few seats. The people in charge may put in the odd Costa Coffee bar or BurgerKing but the over all ambience is still distinctly airport.
Newcastle airport makes a pleasant change. OK ...
