A balance between good and bad.
Advantages: Buses are more frequent than they used to be and new routes have been introduced.
Disadvantages: They often break down and aren't waterproof in the rain!
First provide a wide range of bus networks around Devon and Cornwall. As I live in Cornwall I will refer to these services in my review.
As a general rule, the buses are dirty and fares have gone up in recent years. However, reliability has increased somewhat, and the frequency of some buses have been increased.
Another point to consider is that Cornwall seems to be the 'bus graveyard' of England, most service buses are over 20 years old, this ...

On balance, First serves rural communities well and tries to provide a good service with limited resources. Buses are also a good option for tourists, I would not recommend driving cars through the narrow streets of Mousehole/Marazion/St Ives etc during the summer! ...

Uno Due Tres .... Last
Advantages: connecting villages and towns in Hertforshire, cheap travel for students

UNO run a number of different fares. You can pay the driver for the journey, either as a single or return journey. Depending on where you get on the bus, the fare will rise. There are day tickets for a flat rate of £4.00, a weekly bus pass for £16.00 and a monthly pass for £52.00, these prices are for adult tickets only.

Ground breaking service from Air Coach
Advantages: Reliable, cheap, comfortable service
Disadvantages: None
...it was a company called Aircoach and here is my review on their service.
Aircoach operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week except for Christmas where there is a change in service. Operating between Dublin Airport and Dublin City with plenty of stops which makes it ideal for tourists, commuters and business people looking for a high quality, economical and reliable service.

First Aberdeen
Advantages: Modern clean & warm
Disadvantages: reliability during peak hours & single journey ticket price.
First in Aberdeen provide city centre services with the Aberdeen City Council boundary. There are predominately the only bus company to offer this. Stagecoach and Bains cover two routes within the city.
First offer 22 routes, most of which are colour coded and run at 15 minute frequencies or better. See their web site www.firstgroup.com for full details.

On the buses!
Advantages: Friendly service, gets you where you need to go!
Disadvantages: Becoming expensive!
Stagecoach are the primary providers of public transport in my area (East Midlands). Obviously all areas, buses, drivers, prices are different so I can only comment on my area's service. I have been using buses as my main form of transport for a few years now although hopefully this will be my last year as I have just bought a beautiful little car called Jasmine (now all I need is to pass my test!). Stagecoach run around 90% of all buses in my area ...
...minutes - that is a lot of buses! The bus routes cover almost all areas and almost any where you go in the area you are never more than a 3 min walk to a bus stop. Not bad, eh? Obviously this is a mammoth task and inevitably goes wrong sometimes. Actually, a lot of the time.
