Advantages: small and friendly Disadvantages: limited food menu
...Laffertys is situated on South Street in the historic Scottish town of St Andrews. The pub is quite small, but the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. A small selection of food is offered, ranging from soup and sandwiches, to a variety of pizzas. A general Irish theme runs through the establishment, and there are many instances of Guinness and Kilkenny's memorabilia. Drinks are reasonable for St Andrews, which means that you can expect to pay about two pounds for a pint. The staff are friendly and always ready to engage customers in conversation. Advantages: friendly security / management, great atmosphere, very good dj's - value for money Disadvantages: some 'scallys'!
...the 051 as far as i know is one of liverpool's longest running clubs.
i have been at least 10 times over the last year (2003) and can't really say i have had many bad experiences. fair enough i have had people running into me, but you get that everywhere nowdays?!
the music policy is described as pumping house (main room) - funky house (wkd room). howevere, without discrediting the club or the dj's the main room is mainly scouse / commercial music - but it still has a top atmosphere.
drinks and entry are very resonalbe (£5 entry most saturdays) - average £2 per drink.
if your out in liverpool and want a good, hassle free and fairly cheap night... visit the 051!
for your information...
resident dj's (main room)...
lil john, mark simon, lee butler (radio city 96.7fm)
resident dj's (wkd / red room)...
will rogers, paul mcgee...

I first found this book after reading up on the Richard and Judy Summer Reads 2007, and after loving some of the other books on their list, I decided I would try this one. This isn't normally the kind of book I would go for, but I really liked the blurb... more
