The Town House is a Tiny Treasure

Advantages: Lovely rooms, great smellies
Disadvantages: I didn't get to try the restaurant - maybe next time!

I've never been to Arundel before which is a bit of a shame as it seems to be a lovely little town although I'd have to admit it seems a bit over-supplied with antique shops and speciality little stores selling things you don't need, like a whole shop just selling walking sticks for example. I nearly didn't stay at the Town House and visit Arundel at all due to a bit of a 'cock-up on the communication front' with the lady who was helping to book me a room. She told me that the Town House wouldn't take a booking unless I told them when I was going to arrive and I got in a bit of a snit, fuming "It's not a bloody dentist, why do I need an appointment?" Exasperated, I told her to tell the hotel to take a hike and asked her to book me somewhere else (in fact the awful Mill House in Ashington). Only after she told me that the Mill was ...

Review of The Town House, Arundel

1811 Georgian Town - a superior style guest house

Advantages: Stunning house, high quality, diets catered for, excellent service, slept like a log
Disadvantages: Nothing I can suggest

I dont normally stay in guest houses unless in South Africa or Canada where the B&B style is much different. There you expect luxury rooms, a home baked breakfast, good conversation and a great location. Have now found one in Central London that is completely to my taste. The 1811 Georgian Town house is exactly as it says on the tin - a Regency property that has been metriculouly restored to English Heritage standards. The property is not only grade II listed outside but so all authentic on the inside and why the 1811 Georgian Town House was selected for my business trip. Hats off to our host, I'm not the easiest of guests but she responded to every need without being flustered I'm lactose intolerant and vegetarian, dont like man made fibres and had too much to do in too little time. With a gracious and helpful attitude she ...

Review of The 1811 Georgian Town House Northampton Square, London

A day on the Town

Advantages: Central Dublin Location, lovely staff, amazing food, feel good place
Disadvantages: You need to dress up a bit

Background I spent the Easter bank holiday with my hockey team in Dublin at a hockey tournament. On the Sunday we were sick of hotel food and just generally being at the hockey grounds or at the hotel so we decided to go into Dublin for a late lunch. I had been reading the Irish Independent at breakfast and noticed that they recommend 3 top places in Ireland to eat out that Easter Sunday. Town was one of 2 in Dublin. As the rest of the team seemed happy to go wherever for lunch we booked Town up a few hours before we were due to go. There were 15 of us in the party in total so we thought it was good to get it at such short notice. It was one of the best random finds ever so I asked Ciao to add this restaurant to their list as I think any of you going to Dublin in the near future would enjoy eating at this fab new restaurant ...
