Had a short break here and there was a lot to do, kept my daughter entertained for 4 days. We were both worn out!

+Accommodation+
Accommodation was standard, it wasn't great - and really can understand why people complain about the standard rooms and upgrade, but if you are looking for a cheap getaway, this is great value.
You don't spend much time in the rooms - I would have preferred a shower, but they only had baths in our accommodation - for that, if I went here again I'd go silver. I have heard that it is only Bognor which has baths in the standard accommodation. They are small baths at that. So if you DON'T like baths, then don't go Standard.
The standard accommodation here was more dismal than at Skegness. Rows of two storey chalets, with simple dividing doors if you are in a group, which don't block out much noise.

+Food+
Food was basic, but a reasonable choice, again I would liken it to the kind of food you get served up in Motorway services. We were half board. Bacon and Eggs for breakfast could be cooked differently on a daily basis... in other words, eye up the food before you opt for it. But generally you could get a decent breakfast each day. Toast unlimited, so you won't go hungry.
Evening meals were a lot better than the breakfasts. Quite a varied choice from good old meat and veg, fried food with chips, and in most cases a choice of a curry or chinese type option.
Also, at most meal times there was a choice of fresh(ish) fruit, which you could grab for later. You don't have to feel bad about going back for seconds, or for two servings of desert!!!

+Entertainment +
Entertainment was thoroughly enjoyable. Of all the holiday parks, Butlins does seem to get the best acts to perform. There are childrens clubs, activities and play areas as well.

+Facilities+
On the downside, by the time you've paid for all the extras like trampolines, side stalls, go carts, bungee trampolines and arcade machines it doesn't leave much for yourself! So if you can, give the kids a strict limit on the amount of extras they can have!!!

Most of the facilities are based in the main pavillion, there are plenty of fast food stalls, side shows of amusements, rides, an indoor adventure play area - which was good if not a little overcrowded.

The swimming pool was great too - although it does get busy and it's a free for all trying to get a cubicle to change in. You do get charged for lockers.

The fun fair wasn't as good as the funfair at Butlins in Skegness. However, the rides were free (apart from the go karts) and as I mentioned in my review of Butlins in Skegness, what more do you want included in the price..
Most holiday parks don't have any more free facilities than a swimming pool and evening entertainment, so having half a dozen free funfair rides is a bonus at any cost. The funfair did close at tea time, as did the play areas.
The main childrens play area was a great wooden adventure playground. Lots of fun (even though adults are not allowed!)

+Overview+
I wouldn't pay to go Gold, but I would go Silver here next time. I also WOULD go Half board again, as even though the food is basic. It does work out cheaper than eating out, and also, depending on the deal you get it can be cheaper and less hassle than cooking yourself.
