Well, I have just come back from a four night stay at Butlins and I must say the whole family had a fantastic time!! :O) We had booked a Silver self catering holiday for 2 adults and 4 kids for middle of April for £158 !!!!! Now you can't quibble for that price.
We arrived at 4pm which is check in time. My partner holds a disabled drivers badge so we could park as near as we could to the check in until we had collected our keys and was then told we could park as near to our accomodation as we could. he park caters very well for disabled parties and wheelchair users.
I walked in to the Skyline Pavilions to see 6 queues of hundreds of people. (Check the top of your confirmation letter to see which queue you need to be in) I had to wait about half an hour to get to the front to collect our keys, but I thought that was a small price to pay. We collected our keys and a map which directions to get to our accomodation and I was pleasantly surprised. The Silver Bungalow was ample size for the 6 of us, 3 bedrooms, 1 double and 2 rooms with 2 single beds. The kitchen was fine to cook your meals in. The heating warmed up the bungalow in no time. We also got a complimentary bag with a washing up sponge and cloth and a tiny bottle of washing up liquid and a tea towel.. LOL.....
Anyway, there is plenty to do for the adults and the kids alike, from 9.30am to 11.30pm and on til 2am if you wish.
The shows were amazing!!!! we had Doctor and The Medics, Mark Speight from Smart/Smartinies, Doobie Duck puppet shows and Superslam wrestling.....the list goes on......
The swimming pool was great!!! The whole family loved it in there, from the aduls down to the 4 yr old!!
Just outside Butlins is Tesco's so I would recommend buying your shopping in there. They do have onsite shops but are priced a little more. Fine for when you run out of the odd thing though. Don't forget to take some tea towels and a few bin bags.
The red coats were fantastic, they always make time to stop and chat and were very friendly.
All in all, we had an amazing holiday and I would recommend it to anyone!!!!

Advantages: Great fun, lots to do, well themed, brilliant location, very atmospheric Disadvantages: Expensive on site, get fat from all the drinking and junk food.
