We went to butlins in minehead. We will never go there again. .
Great for entertainment if you dont mind queuing, Very expensive on most things (ie drinks, food ect) , Very little for under 5s to do unless you want to spend a fortune in the arcade.
We had a four day break in from oct 3 - oct 7 2007 in standered self catering ground floor apartment. We paid an extra £10 so we got ground floor because we had four children in our group under 5.
The accomidation was what we were after, but it was the most filthy hovel i have ever walked in to. It wasnt as much as dust sitting on the carpets but more the amount of black and white marks and suspect stains. It stank of damp and had mould growing in the shower, around all the windows and behind one of the wardrobes. When i actually managed to get hold of a member of the cleaning staff they could not speak a word of english. We just did our best to enjoy it for the kids sakes because they had been looking foward to it.
It was actually my second time at butlins. I had previously went there in sept 2000 on 60,s week with my family and extendid family. The accomidation at the time was the other way round. The standered apartments were closer to the pavilion and the silver ( which is what we stayed in at the time, which are now the standered accom) were at the farthest away. The carpets and the sofas were the same carpet and sofa that were there 7 years ago hence the state they were in. They said on the website that they had spent 2 million pounds on the site over the winter. I could not see anything diffrent apart from the new key card system which they are now using.
To make things even worse by the time we got to the wednesday all the kids had a virus and me and my brother were very ill also. We ended up going home on the thursday morning.
The year before we went to Haven at Doniford bay. The site was a fair bit smaller then butlins but had good evening and daytime entertainment and you could park vertually right next to your accomdation. The standered was basic but well presented and very clean. The staff were very helpfull and your halfway in between minehead and taunton so alot to do. We are going there again next year. NOT BUTLINS
Be warned, go at your own risk!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wife and Grown Up Daughters have been to the Skegness one for Themed Weekends which have been OK, but they say for family holidays with the little ones Greece wins every time. Steve.

Advantages: Great fun, lots to do, well themed, brilliant location, very atmospheric Disadvantages: Expensive on site, get fat from all the drinking and junk food.
