On Saturday morning we travelled for the first time on one of the no frill carriers. We flew with Buzz from its London base at Stansted to Vienna, on a nearly 2 hour service which I was quite impressed with.

We booked on Valentines day as I came across their special deals they were offering for that day only. They were advertising fares to any of their destinations for the bargain price of only £48 per person including tax, when you consider the airport tax for my journey was over £23.00 it shows was a small amount the airline actually make. When I came to book it at their website which is www.buzzaway.com I found the fare was actually £66 per person, but we had set our minds on going so we paided the extra. At this point the website crashed so I ended up ringing Buzz to make my booking, to be told they charge a credit card handling fee per person of £3.00. So to avoid this if possible pay by debit card....Bazzas money saving tip of the day!!!!

The ground service is an area which I think needs to be improved for the following reasons:-

1) Was the lack of a Queueing system at Stansted.One minute we were at the middle of one long q,ueue then we were at the back on now one of four queues for each of the check in staff . I think the system should be marked and bollards erected to stop people jumping the queue.

2) Buzz advise that check in is 2 hours prior to departure time, I thought this was a very long time and rang Buzz the day before hand to reconfirm the flights and double check the check in time. Since we were due to fly at 06.45 we had to check in at 04.45 plus there was travelling time from Stansted Hilton Hotel on top of this. The Buzz agent advised that if possible it should be 90 minimum check in but still advised 2 hours otherwise they may not be able to carry you.Other words if the airline oversell, last ones there doesnt get a seat!!!.

I was impressed by there service, both flights were delayed by only 20 minutes each way. Outbound because of a technical fault and the inbound because of a missed slot when leaving from Stansted.

The aircraft we flew on where the mighty impressive British Aerospace 146 four engined jets whcih are known as Whisperjets. Its the first time Ive flew on such aircraft and found them to be the best small aircarft Ive ever flew on. For the first time flyer I can imagine that the size would put them off, please dont let this worry you. Landings were the best Ive ever had and take off were fine.

On the aircraft the seating configuration is two rows of three all non smoking. All aircraft are painted in bright yellow , while the interior is a mixture of purple and lime green....you have been warned!!!. The plane did have an unusual smell, so be honest like vomit!!!. Buzz do not offer any complemartary meals or drinks on board, however they do provide a trolley service for which you pay for what you buy. I thought this is where the airline will make its money charging hotel prices for refreshments!!. How wrong could I be, only 50p for a can of coke and sandwiches were good value for money at around £2.00.

I think that safety wise that this airline are also first class as all maintance is taken care by the owner of Buzz which is KLM and KLM UK, so flying with Buzz is one that I will recommend.
