I`m not a bum though as I`m doing Physics with Astrophysics at Leeds Uni. And no I`m not a nerd either!

WHO? "buzz: the low cost airline that gives you more" is a budget airline owned by "KLM Royal Dutch Airlines".
WHERE TO? They currently fly from London Stansted airport to 18 destinations across Europe:- (1) Düsseldorf, La Rochelle, Paris and Poitiers; (2) Berlin, Frankfurt, Milan, Bordeaux, Lyons, Helsinki and Marseilles; (3) Geneva, Chamberry, Jerez and Murcia.
HOW MUCH? The destinations in Group (1) have recently had their one way fares slashed meaning they now start from £19 (one way, inc. all taxes) which is almost half the previous cheapest single fare of £35.
There's also savings to be made on the Group (2) destinations as one way fares
(inc. all taxes) now start from £29 having previously started from between £35 and £45 (i.e. it was destination specific).
The Group (3) destinations remain at their already low prices.
So, will you be able to actually get the fares you see above? The answer is YES! as long as you :-
a) travel before 8th February 2002 as the offer prices terminate then. You can book a roundtrip with your return (or both your outward and return journies) outside of this time - it just won't be quite as cheap is all. I suspect buzz will be extending this period - possibly indefinitely - as they are not meant to be offer prices but rather the new prices.
b) you don't leave it too late to book. Only a little more than 10% of the seats on each plane will be offered at this new low price. Don't worry though as most of the "more expensive" prices still constitute tremendous savings on the non-budget prices. It helps if you don't mind anti-social flying times where availablilty tends to be greater.
HOW DO I BOOK? Goto www.buzzaway.com and click "check flights". The form is simple and very user-friendly.
If you have any difficulty finding an outward or return flight then goto the "where we fly" section and check the timetable for the operating dates.
If the fares are not as cheap as you would like then try a different day if you can be a little flexible. Alternatively, check the "where we fly" section to see if there is another destination you could fly to that is also close to where you are heading - this works particularly well in regions of France where there are clusters of buzz-served destintations. Obviously the sooner you try to book the better the fare prospects will be.
Booking by internet is £2.50 cheaper than by telephone. If you have problems with booking then you can ring for assistance (number in the "about us/contact us" section) or on the same page is a callback facility where you can get an operator to ring your phone instantly or up to an hour later. This is particularly useful for saving dosh on your mobile bill and hats off to buzz for a great service there.
But I live miles away from Stansted airport! I live miles from it myself and I still have made massive savings flying from Stansted having travelled from as far afield as Leeds and Newcastle. You can get there cheaply by rail or by coach. Make sure you get the cheapest ticket possible (especially when going by rail as the operators haven't a clue themselves half the time!) but watch out for the ticket restrictions too (i.e. no friday travel on a supersaver rtn, etc.). Checkout www.thetrainline.co.uk and www.gobycoach.com.
Other budget airlines operating from London Standted:- Ryanair, Go-Fly.
WHAT ELSE DOES BUZZ HAVE TO OFFER? You can buy food/drink at reasonable rates onboard. buzz also offers links to car hire, accommodation and insurance but I prefer to shop around personally. buzz offer £3 off an Airbus return coach fare between Stansted Airport and the centre of London (book on the site under "getting around". For a fee you can access a business lounge at most airports.
Now you can book flights to/from Bordeaux, Poitiers, La Rochelle, Marseilles, Gerona, Jerez and Murcia for travel up to 26th October 2002 (I think I inadvertently caused this by ceaselessly searching lat dates for these destinations). The other destinations are currently only open for travel up to 30th March - their summer timetables should appear some time in February.
buzz also offer a "whats on when" section for each destination and also give practical information on airport transfers/prices etc.
