I remember LTS very well, the old misery line. Never on time, HUGE delays, I remember it got so bad people used to open the old slam doors and walk down the platform! I think the whole make-over is brilliant. I use it to go to Fenchurch Street every day and It's always comfortable, good value for money.
Firstly they are very reliable. They have topped the PPM league for two months running, always over 90% of trains are on time. There are the odd occasional small delays, but they are always told over the tannoy and they are never usually more than three minutes late. The trains are comfortable and smooth, no bumping around like on the old district line, the alternative way to get to fenchurch (tower hill) and they are fast. They usually run quite a few fast services in the peak-times which is really handy if your in a bit of a rush!
I also find the weekend fares really good, if you fancy a day down at southend they do really good weekend fares! There's also lots of deals avaliable like group saves and offers for adventure island which is good for families. THe customer service is good too seem to know what they are doing and go the extra length to help you and tell you about offers that might come in handy for you.
The only disadvantage is, and it rarely happens, is if there is a fault with the overhead or serious incidents such as suicides or cars on the level crossings, this can delay them pretty badly but I can honestly say it hasn't happened more than once to me in the last year which I think is OK. :)
