Advantages cheap for Denmark, good location
Disadvantages none for our needs
We used to live in Denmark, in Aarhus which is Denmarks second city and is a few hours north of Copenhagen. We stayed in the Cab Inn Copenhagen City for 1 night prior to catching an early flight out of Copenhagen Airport the following morning.
Cab Inn is a Danish hotel chain, they have 8 hotels in Denmark; 4 hotels in and around Copenhagen, Aarhus, Aalborg, Esbjerg and Odense. We have also stayed at the Cab Inn in Aarhus many times whilst finding our own apartment. We actually chose the Cab Inn in Copenhagen based on the reasonable prices for the rooms and the fact that we were impressed with the Cab Inn in Aarhus.Cab Inn is a budget chain, but this is Danish or Scandinavian budget so it's actually really nice. The rates are really reasonable, and this is probably one of the lowest priced hotel in Copenhagen. Don't let this put you off though as there's nothing at all wrong with the hotel, in fact I've stayed in higher priced hotels that were far worse than this.
The Cab Inn City in Copenhagen is very centrally located, it's located just behind the Tivoli Gardens in the centre of Copenhagen. It's a very short and easy walk from the Central Train Station, I would say that it's probably a 5 to 10 minute walk without luggage, however lugging my VERY HEAVY suitcase it was more like 15 to 20 minutes! It also probably took me slightly longer as I didn't want to get lost as I was arriving quite late at night on my own and so I was very constantly checking all of the cross streets twice to check I hadn't gone too far (we arrived separately - long story - not relevant to the review!!). It seemed a safe enough walk late at night and I certainly didn't feel unsafe at any point on my own, in fact after I'd checked in I walked back to the central train station for fast food and snacks. The walk back to the train station the following morning probably did only take around 10 minutes, as we knew where we were going, and it was daylight. If you were in Copenhagen for a few days as a tourist then the Cab Inn City would be an ideal location for exploring Copenhagen. As you're in the heart of the city there's all the museums, tourist attractions, shops, restaurants, cafes, bars etc close by.
We chose the cheapest room, the standard class room, it was clean, simple and sleek, and modern and would actually sleep 3 people, it had bunk beds and also a pull out bed underneath the bottom bunk. The room was actually fairly spacious for just a standard room, we chose to use the bottom bunk and the pull out bed so obviously we then lost some floor space but there was still enough room to move about and this was fine for just the one night. All of rooms have a private shower and toilet, TV, phone and a electric kettle with complementary tea and coffee. The hotel also has free wi-fi throughout the hotel. The reception desk is open 24 hours a day, and the staff speak perfect English. Booking online is quick and easy, and surprisingly you don't enter your card details to pay for the room, you pay at check in.
