There are many boat excursion you can do from Buzios, and they keep you busy all day. It is a good idea to join other groups to get lower prices. Accomodation can be expensive in the summer season. If you are lucky enough to meet people in Brazil who won a property there and invite you to stay, you should not miss on this opportunity.

Cabo Frio is two hours driving from Rio and the main attraction is that is a coast little fisherman village. Saquarema I agree with you is a strange name, but is a place outside of Rio de Janeiro city where mostly of the young generation go to surf
because is a good place to it and the waves have good high. Apart of that there is just beautiful people when a surf competition is going on and is where some people has their holiday houses, but I cannot say is a kind of hollywoodian place. If you are going to another place called CaboFrio or Buziosthan you will have a look and that's it, nothing that I would judge that is a place to stop. Just go a little bit forward and than yes Buzios is the place. Stop in Buzios. ...
