Caerphilly is located approximately 10 miles from Cardiff and Newport in South Wales. Located on the M4, it is accessible from Junction 28.
We also have a train station with connections to and from Cardiff & the Rhymney Valley, it's not a main line station though and to get here you would have to take a train to Cardiff and catch another train out, though the cost of travelling from Cardiff to Caerphilly ... ...The Fort of Ffili = Caerphilly as we know it today.
In 1066 the Normans invaded England and soon advanced into Wales. By the beginning of the twelfth century they had conquered much of the lowland area south of Caerphilly. In 1267 the Anglo-Normans gained an uneasy control of Caerphilly. To enforce this, they began building Caerphilly Castle in the town, then made up of farmland in 1268.
