Advantages: Location, cheaper rooms, All the basics Disadvantages: Not as glitzy as its neighbours
...I stayed here on a stag week in June 2007 and we could not really have asked for more from a hotel in terms of a base to see Sin City. Location is excellent, right on the strip and walking distance to MGM, New York New York, Caesars Palace and the Bellagio.
The rooms are standard fare, no real glitz and glamour but to be honest when you are in Vegas you aren't spending a lot of time in the room! The Casino is ok, nothing great but again you have access to every other casino on the strip. We saw the hotel show which was Lance Burton. A good show but probably not as good as a show in say Caesars.
Lets be honest here, you stay at the Monte Carlo because it is cheaper than the other hotels on the Strip and so you have more tokens to fritter in the casinos!
It has all the basics you need for a base from which to explore Fabulous Las Vegas...

Advantages: Value for money, excellent casino layout, comfortable rooms Disadvantages: Getting a bit tired, Arthurian theme not to everyone's liking
...Anyone visiting vegas who wants to get value for money ought to give consideration to staying in this rather ridulously themed hotel. Whilst there are undoubtedly flashier and more expensive places to stay, the Excalibur provides good sized, comfortbale rooms, a varied selection of restaurants and a very well laid out casino. Having stayed in few of the other hotels on the strip over the past 15 years, I have come to the conclusion that you don't need to stay in the most expensive place in town to have a good time.
Being located on the south end of the famous 'Strip', the Excalibur is brilliantly located and lies opposite the MGM Grand, Tropicana, New York New York and the Luxor. Being under the same group ownership, there is a free monorail linking the Excalibur to both the Luxor and the Mandalay Bay Resort.
The casino...

Advantages: Very comfortable, friendly and helpful staff Disadvantages: Celine Dion!
...We had an amazing time at Caesars Palace. Having spent 5 days on the strip, the three hotels i would recommend are Caesars Palace, The Venetian and the Belaggio, this is where i would choose to stay if i were travelling again. Caesars had a great layout, the lobby was beautiful, the gaming areas were comfortable and the waitresses great. We ate our buffet breakfast at Caesars most mornings, we tried a few other places, but decided it was the best value and quality. There is a spa and shopping mall at Caesars which really has to be seen to be believed. Like the Venetian, if you like high end fashion, with designer labels, then this is the place for you. Having said that, amoungst these designers, you'll find FAO Schwartz, gift shops, Nike, Planet Hollywood and all sorts. Being in the shopping mall is a little unnerving, as when its...
