Café Face

Café Face is located in the heart of Selly Oak, right near the University Of Birmingham. It is by no means a large establishment, but is friendly and homely enough to make you want to go there again and again. A great place to relax with some friends, the café offers some wonderful food at excellent prices - I would recommend their full breakfasts any day! ...restaurants, little shops a laundry, kiddies play area and much more, there was a large café on the sea facing side of the Playa Bella, with a large veranda that reached down to the beach, with tables and chairs, that served as a café/restaurant during the day and as a bar for the evening entertainment, of which there certainly was plenty, with children’s entertainment early evening, going on to adult entertainment well into the night usually past 1pm for anyone who wished to stay up that long, “must admit we did most nights" as the cabarets, comedians, DJ’s rep shows fun and games and karaoke were too good to miss. ~~~~~~~THE REST OF THE BAY~~~~~ Coming out of the other side of our apartment, onto Cala de Bou, led you straight onto the main stretch of road, 1 ½ miles of quaint little shops, also 2 Spar mini supermarkets and a small Co op... .... Once over the coastal range and protected against the cold winds from the north, the wooded slopes seem greener and you pass through vineyards as you descend towards Yalta itself. Amid the lush greenery and the occasional Tsarist estate, there are grey apartment blocks here too, and sanatoria that range from the sumptuous (for high officials) to the barrack-like (for favoured workers). Here in Soviet times these select few would enjoy the privilege of holidays for “rest and medical treatment”. There are also cranes hovering above concrete honeycombs as new hotels rise from the ground, and other concrete shells without cranes, for which the finance has run out before completion. Nevertheless, the streets of central Yalta are attractively tree-lined, and the hotels, restaurants, cafés and casinos that face the kilometre-long promenade... Read review

Advantages: Fantastic food, lovely ship, views that could turn a man to religion
Disadvantages: Bumpy ride if you go in winter. Cabin a bit cozy

.... So with a big, frozen smile on my face we headed for the café to get a hot chocolate, Danish, and an open faced salami sandwich (side note - DFDS is a Danish company, and when we asked the man for a Danish, he looked utterly bewildered. What do they call Danishes in Denmark exactly?). As we sat there eating breakfast it dawned on me - it's Monday morning. Thanks to the Bangles, I've never been a big fan of Mondays. But here I was, sailing down the fjords with good company and good food. And then I saw mountains! So I dashed upstairs to the deck again to take more photos! Every time we thought the views had ended, the ship would turn a corner and the previous views were suddenly rendered obsolete. It was like nature was competing with itself to impress us.
