We (myself and my boyfriend, both early twenties) stayed at Disneyland Paris last September. It was classed as an 'off peak' time to go, but both theme parks were still pretty busy. I'd wanted to have a character meal ever since I went to Florida as a child but I had never had the opportunity. I pleaded with my boyfriend to eat at Cafe Mickey, who eventually gave in, but neither of us really expected him to enjoy it (after all he is a 23 year old bloke!!).
We went to the restaurant the day before to book our table for 8pm the following evening. This was no problem and no deposit was required. They gave us a little booking slip to bring back the next evening. .................................................................................................................
On arrival at the restaurant a server took us upstairs to wait for our table. We waited no more than 5 minutes to be seated. It soon became apparant that we were the only guests eating inside without children, but we didn't let this put us off. I put our camera on the table like everyone else and hoped the characters wouldn't ignore us!
The menu had many choices and we could see from other people's table that the portions were of good sizes. I opted for the Captain Hook's Double Mixed Grill Surf and Turf (Є26). This was a mixed grill with a difference - it was served on two skewers. This was good as it kept the portion size more manageable. The meats that were included were: Scallops, King Prawn, Sausage, Beef and Chicken. It was served with a large jacket potato.
My boyfriend chose the Honey Pot Barbeque (Є23). This is a full rack of BBQ ribs, served with chips and coleslaw.
Both meals were very good quality. The only problem was that the characters came out just as our meals arrived so we easily became distracted from our food - as such my potato was cold by the time I came around to eating it.
As each character came out, they interacted with both children and adults. We got just as much attention as the little kids did. Despite his initial misgivings, my boyfriend loved the character interaction and I have many photographs of Goofy and him playfighting. The characters we had on our visit were: Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Goofy, Captain Hook, Smee, Baloo and Guisepo. All of them came over and we each had our photographs taken with all of them.
After our main courses we were pretty full so decided to just get one dessert between us. We had King Louis' Favourite (Є8). This was a chocolate pudding filled with caramel, served with icecream. There was plenty for the both of us!
Whilst we were eating dessert, some music started and Captain Hook and the servers performed a short dance for the guests.
Although it cost over Є70 for the two of us to eat at Cafe Mickey, it was worth the rather expensive price tag. The character interaction was good without being too overpowering and the food was tasty and great quality.
Although we didn't experience the childrens menu, all the kids seemed to be having a great time. I would recommend this to adults (the young at heart!) and families who are looking for a special meal whilst at Disneyland Paris.
Advantages: kids will never stop dreaming about the magic here Disadvantages: can get busy at certain times in the day
in,they give you a card to keep with you and hand in at breakfast)We never had an evening meal in the santa fe but there was an all you could menu for around 20 euros per person.
DISNEY VILLAGE
This was a fantastic area just outside the two parks with restaurants, bars and shops.plenty to do in the evenings once the park had shut,i would reccommend that if you have little ones then book into cafe micky for one of your meals whilst there as its well worth the money, its 15 euros for kiddes meal, drink and pudding plus they get to keep their plastic cafemickey drinks beakers and also the sweet menu is a buffet where you go up and pile on your plate what you like(doghnuts, yougurts, sweets etc)theres also a supprise gift at the table.adults menu ranges from 15-30 euros with plenty to choose from. Also the charcters come in and walk around to ...

Advantages: Enough to entertain all ages for a couple of days Disadvantages: The prices inside the gates are shocking
of an attraction than a facility in my opinion and it's not particularly necessary given that the park isn't as big as you might think it is. It's mostly on flat ground as well so I was pleasantly surprised to find that though my feet ached at the end of the day - my legs didn't at all. Also in the initial small courtyard is a block of toilets with water fountains that didn't work during my visit and the City Hall where you can get information on any Disney aspect you need or make reservations for one of the Disney Restaurants in the park or village. I booked our meal at CaféMickey in the City Hall and found the guy that I dealt with couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. Don't worry about how good your French is too much as you should find there is at least one English speaking member of staff on every team (I only had problems in one place ...
Advantages: Low price for area, free shuttle service, adequate rooms Disadvantages: No children's facilities or pool, inflated food and drink prices
I thought it would be a waste of time and money. For E10 more than the special offer price (so E5 less than the standard price) my son and I had dinner at CaféMickey in the Disney Village where he got to cuddle not one but five Disney characters included in the price as well as take home a souvenir Disney cup.

Besides the restaurant there is an extremely small bar in the reception area with about ten tables where they serve a limited range of beverages at shockingly inflated prices. After a hard day's Disneying, I stopped at the bar for one quick drink just to take the edge of my aching feet and was gobsmacked to be charged E7.50 for a small southern comfort and lemonade. Yes, I paid nearly £6 for a single spirit and dash of mixer. Imagine a party of four having a few drinks here? We're not talking ...
