...Sitting on the rocks, sipping a drink, the only noise is from the bar behind playing tranquil and serene music, watching the sun slowly disappear below the sea. Its beautiful.

Cafédel mar was built in the 1980s. Is is now joined by Mambo, Savannah and Kanya at al but CaféDel Mar is still the most renowned. CaféDel Mar produces its own music and was responsible for starting the chill-out trend with its trademark mellow Baleraric beat. Since 1994 CaféDel Mar has been releasing annual chillout albums.
For those people who are running low on euros !....you can bring your own drinks and sit on the rocks in front of the café, you can still hear the music.
Once the sun has left us, there is usually entertainment...

Advantages: Plenty of variety, not all designer, lots of affordable places, food and cinema. Disadvantages: You might fall in love with designer clothes in the windows!
...of bars and takeaway cafes, selling paninis, sandwiches and drinks but to be honest it's aimed at the tourists, so is more expensive than necessary. Instead, you should definitely head down any of the side streets, particularly the east side, such as Via del Condotti because you can get some seriously amazing food for less money and also have the option to sit down. These streets are less crowded too, which means if you did have a takeaway lunch then you're better off eating it here too - it's just a lot nicer.
If you get fed up of shopping, or more likely the boys get tired of it, then send them in the direction of Piazza del Popolo - there's a cinema right at the end of the street that screens English/American films in the original language. Great way to stop the moaning and give you more time for shopping!

...Piazza del Popolo is north east of the city centre and located just above tourist attractions such the Spanish Steps and some great streets for shopping that the Italians frequently visit themselves. It's near to the mauseleum of Hadrian and just below a fantastic park, Borghese, that's great to eat lunch and relax in.
The squares name is derrived from the modern Italian for 'the peoples square'. The church that stands on one side of the square, Santa Maria del Popolo takes it's name from the historical context of the name of the square. The square itself is very large and has various features. The obelisk in the centre has a fascinating history; in 10 BC Augustus brought it to Italy from Egypt. It's theme is Rameses the second.
