When I moved from London to Taunton in May 2004 I was seriously addicted to coffee! I used to live in Starbucks in Canary Wharf but was never a huge fan of the coffee - always a bit watered down and milky for my taste.

When I arrived in Taunton I was thrilled to see such a range of coffee shops and believe me I tried them all! However I had some reservations about all but one - one gave too small portions of coffee, one was too expensive, one was too milky, one was too small inside etc etc. However, in the words of Goldilocks, Caffe Nero was "just right"

The coffee in Caffe Nero is good and strong with a mellow flavour - I personally drink a large skinny latte which costs about £2.20, which I don't think is unreasonable for the size of the mug and the amount of coffee it contains!

My other favourite item to purchase in Nero is one of their Panini! These are divine! Full of delicious things like bacon and cheese, or pesto sauce and mozzarella! These cost about £3.50 but are huge and are so worth it!

One of the general things I love about Caffe Nero is the loyalty card - for every coffee/drink you buy in the store, you get a stamp on a loyalty card and after buying 9 drinks you get a free one! Suffice to say I have been through about 50 cards so far!

The other main thing I like about Caffe Nero is a rather anti social one - you can smoke in them! There are so few places left where one can relax with a coffee, the paper and a cigarette - Caffe Nero is one of them! They always have comfy chairs and plenty of space so you never feel like an outcast.

I always find the staff incredibly helpful and friendly and have built a great rapport with most of them!

So all in all, Caffe Nero is a life saver for me - it gives me somewhere to escape work and read a paper and have a cigarette with a coffee at lunchtime, as well as providing me with the best Panini in town - definitely worth a visit!

A great review on what I know to me a great coffee place - and I'm using the ones in Cambridge and London as my example. xx

Cafe Nero is owned by the company I work for. I hate paninis because they are so damn annoying to make and do. LOL Good review Nicky
