Caffe Nero provides first-class coffee that surpasses that of other leading high street coffee houses such as Starbucks and Pret a Manger. Walking into a Nero is like finding an oasis in the desert that is city life. Caffe Nero definitely live up to their name by providing "the best espresso this side of Milan". In fact, having been to Italy several times a year I can safely say that I could not tell a Nero espresso from the best Italian coffee. The beans that Nero use are Fairtrade and definitely a cut above those used in the overpriced and americanized Starbucks. I feel that Caffe Nero does exactly what one would expect from a coffee house, by providing a very relaxed atmosphere; perfect for doing business, meeting friends, or quiet personal reflection. In addition, Nero have the reward system that Starbucks lack, whereby after 10 coffees you can claim another one free. I feel this shows some appreciation for my loyalty. The one area in which Nero does not meet my expectations is its "Frappe Latte", which i feel is just a failed attempt at competing with Starbucks' infamous "Frappucino". That said, Caffe Nero provides the best coffees and teas on the highstreet. So unless you want to pay twice as much for something half as good, I say choose Nero over Starbucks any day.
