Belize it or not!

Advantages: The Blue Hole, rich with history
Disadvantages: beggars following you around town asking for money

Because Belize is situated close to the equator it has a very humid and hot climate. Temperatures usually 35-40 degrees centigrade, When it came to exploring Belize I wanted to experience local Belize and some of the Mayan history. There are several archaeological sites in Belize which are open to the public. We visited Altun Ha which is north of Belize City so we had to take a tour (on a bus with air con!). As you drive through Belize, you notice it is not so flat and quite hilly in certain areas. Given it's subtropical climate it is quite dry but you can find tropical fruit growing in different places, especially bananas. Sugar plantations are quite rife and is Belize's biggest export Altun Ha was a major ceremonial center during the Classic Period, as well as a vital trade center that linked the Caribbean shores with other ...

"Last night I dreamed of San Pedro"

Advantages: Amazing wildlife, Mayan temples, cheap day trips & food
Disadvantages: Run down, ghettos, high visible unemployment & homelessness

a lot more experienced than me, so I figure this really is one to recommend to other divers out there, in the unlikely chance that they havent already heard of it! This isn't a cheap dive. We paid £250 in total, which included 2 tank dives for both of us, food, soft drinks, a dive guide, and cost of entry into the national park that the Great Blue Hole resides in. However you would probably be able to get it a lot cheaper if you were coming in from Ambergris Caye and not Belize City, due to the proximity. Day 10 - Lamani ********************************** Lamani, meaning 'submerged crocodile' in Mayan, is one of the most important ruins in Northern Belize. It is also unusual in that it was continuously occupied from circa 2,000 BC until at least 1,650 AD and survived numerous attempts attacks by the Spanish. It is a fantastic place ...

Ruin this

Advantages: Read Opp
Disadvantages: Read Opp

The ruins is a horror film that was released in 2008, directed by Carter Smith and starring Jonathan Tucker, Shawn Ashmore, Jena Malone, Laura Ramsey and Joe Anderson. The book was originally based on a Novel that was written by Scott Smith. I had the pleasure of watching this film, last week, and I was one of mixed feelings. At times this film was brilliant, a fresh new plot, which didn't have any ghosts, or villains, but at times it was hard to pick up the film, in the sense that there were moments were the film slowed down. A great horror film should be one that has a constant flow to it, one that constantly keeps you on the edge of your seat. Plot: So the film starts of in a dark cold place, the viewers see a woman, who is trapped in a dark dungeon type area, one that looks more like a well, or a cave. She tries to call for help ...
