The attractions within the park include the stunning CairngormMountains containing some of the highest peaks in Scotland, the ancient pine forests of Abernethy, the Rothiemurchus estate, rare wild life & native birds.
You would never be short of ideas up here; popular activities include skiing, downhill Alpine skiing, snowboarding, gliding, mountain biking, fishing, pony trekking, nostalgic steam train trips & tasting the local whisky.
Almost in the middle of all this is the small village of Tomintoul with its modest population of 544. Its one of the highest villages in the Highlands of Scotland at 1165 feet above sea level (350m). It is surrounded by the mountain ranges of Cromdales, Ladder Hills & the Cairngorms.
It is situated approximately half way between Inverness & Aberdeen & not that far from Aviemore.
