Cairo Marriott Hotel & Omar Khayyam Casino, Cairo

We have just returned from 3nts at this wonderful hotel. We had one of the renovated rooms overlooking the Nile and the gardens / pool which was really lovely. The hotel is a real haven from the hustle and bustle of Cairo and it is really beautiful throughout. As we arrived very late one evening we had arranged for the hotel's meet and greet service which was excellent and made the experience less daunting. Stayed in this very nice hotel for my girlfriends 30th birthday (a surprise!) we both really enjoyed staying there, food was excellent out in the garden area, but everything was very pricey around £8 each for vodka cokes in the 'piano bar'. security were on the main doors and you have to walk through a metal detector arrangement each time you enter the hotel. however all the staff were very courteous and were more than willing to help you out. there is a shopping arcade area inside the hotel which enables you to buy clothes, get your hair cut, buy postcards and souvenirs even a japanese ... more
