Well lets begin, about 4 years ago now I went on holiday to this fantastic little resort, not through choice mind you. You see my friend and myself decided to pack up our bags, pick a cheap flight off the teletext and jet off to 'sunny Spain' - (Majorca or as the locals spell it Mallorca) for a week........
When we arrived in Palma airport, we were directed to the Rep as our holiday was an allocations on arrivial. Imagine our surprise when the Rep directed an ELDERLY couple to Magaluf and us to a place called 'Cala Bona'??!?
After spending our first day finding our way about we actually found it to be very pleasant, with a beautiful harbour and the locals were so friendly. The beach was a beautiful cove of rocks which you could walk out on and made you feel very far out from the land.
That night we decided to go to a little bar called 'Waterloo' which is run by a little Spanish man named Tayo. The DJ there was from our part of the country and so we all hit it off. The bar was down stairs in a basement complex. The toilets could be really smelly - you know the one the typical scent you get from most Spanish draining systems. Luckily the toilets were out in the hallway so you only had to hold your breath on entering and exiting the building. Inside was a nice atmosphere and they would play your music requests.
The next day we went out for a walk in the opposite direction towards 'Cala Millor' along the prominade which is totally predestrianised, luckly really coz the Spanish are wild drivers. The sea on one side of you and shops to browse in on the other, check out 'Mango' for womens clothing. KFC, Burger King if your not so fond of Spanish cuisine.
If your looking for some nightlife in the form of a club then best to go into 'Cala Millor' for a night out, we walked along the prominade to Cala Millor but you can get a taxi from Cala Bona taxi rank just where the beach is - (by the way there is a much larger beach at Cala Millor but it can get very busy in high season my advice grab a spot when you can as all the watersports, bungie spring etc is based at Cala Millor. When on a night out in Cala Millor do try out the 'BRITISH BULLDOG' which is a Bar and Restruant. The tend to be family orientated although everyone is invited to join the fun. The owner walks about putting flowers round peoples neck with a funny hat on a plastic bare bum over his trousers his name is Satu. Karoki is the main theme at night and music is played when no-one is singing, they even have their own BULLDOG NATIONAL ANTHUM - If you like rOy ChUbbY BroWn - then check it out; 'When you go to Spain, get out of your brain and act like a W*****' as part of the song goes.
Palace Q which is open 10pm until 6am which plays a mixture on English and Spanish music.
There are a few other clubs with similar opening times although I can't exactly remember them, do follow the crowds thats how we found out ways to different clubs as some are up the shopping streets in Cala Millor.
All in all I found that I got to sleep at night in the nice peaceful resort of Cala Bona and had Cala Millor on my doorstep. I counldn't have asked for more it was everything a holiday should be FUN, RELAXING, ALL NIGHT PARTYING, VERY FRIENDLY LOCALS, CULTURE.
Do check out the food at 'Smugglers' on the harbour fantastic for a chicken curry and on the main road in Cala Bona there is a yorkshire pub I think its called the Woolpack, don't miss out on their Carvery Roast dinner on a Sunday. The taste of home in Spain. Try a 'Pepito con Quessa' which is a pork crusty roll with cheese there are yummy.
I would reccommed a holiday to Cala Bona to most people I believe it has enough to capture mosts interest, you can also explore the island by hiring a car or motorbike or just book some trips with your Rep there are plenty to choose from and if you are choosing Cala Bona there is a beautiful hotel with a private part on the beach called LeVante.
Advantages: Sun, Sand, and just about everything else you could possibly wish for Disadvantages: Each resort has it's own features so pic the resort thats best for you

Advantages: Reasonably priced, friendly, clean Disadvantages: Food choice at dinner is not the best
Last year my girlfriend and I decided to go to Majorca for our holiday. We went in May, as it was slightly cheaper with the kids still in school, and booked it all through Thomson holidays. We booked a price breaker package, which basically meant we could end up in any one of three hotels on the quieter east coast, and after a two-hour flight, this was the one we ended up in.
Situated on the promenade between the two popular, but quiet resorts of CalaBona and Cala Millor on Majorca's east coast, the Bonamar is owned by the well-respected Protur group, who own several good hotels and apartment complexes on the island. The hotel itself is rated at 4 T's in the Thomson brochure, and has an official tourist rating of 3 stars, with just over 200 rooms with a small lift for access to the upper floors.
The main entrance of the hotel is ...
Advantages: fab hotel, fab pools, fab beach, fab price. Disadvantages: the airtours staff, rude, arrogant.
well we stayed at the bouganvilla for 2 weeks. 9th to 23rd june 2007.
we paid £550 through mytravel(airtours) last minute.some sites are selling the same hol for as much as £1600! thats for 2 weeks, 2 adults and a 2 year old child. what a bargain. that included flights, transfers, meals on plane..but we were self catering. how cheap though.
when i was an airtours holiday rep i did my training here so i couldnt wait to get back.
we usually go for lively resorts when we go on holiday but felt we should go here as it would be best for our little man.
its on the east coast of majorca in a little town called sa coma, near cala millor, calabona and porto cristo.
the resort is lovely and right on the beach, lots of shops, bars, restaurants, very catered for he british aswell, although theres lots of german and dutch people there.

Advantages: Set in a quiet area, extremely clean, friendly staff with great food Disadvantages: Being quiet its not for the "nightclubber"
Hotel Alicia
This review has been written after visits to the Hotel Alicia and is based on experience gained whilst booking via Portland Direct, the review is based not just on the hotel but the package experience provied through that company.
The Hotel Alicia is situated on the East side of the island of Majorca in the resort of CalaBona, CalaBona is a small fishing village type port which still retains some of its Balaeric charm. CalaBona is the much quieter "little sister" of Cala Millor. Cala Millor is a stroll away from the hotel and provides shops ( a couple of designer) and streets of tourist shops, as well as the usual tobacco shops and restaurants.
The Facilities
The Hotel has a good reception area, which at the last stay employed an English lady and English speaking locals. The reception is air ...
