Well lets begin, about 4 years ago now I went on holiday to this fantastic little resort, not through choice mind you. You see my friend and myself decided to pack up our bags, pick a cheap flight off the teletext and jet off to 'sunny Spain' - (Majorca or as the locals spell it Mallorca) for a week........

When we arrived in Palma airport, we were directed to the Rep as our holiday was an allocations on arrivial. Imagine our surprise when the Rep directed an ELDERLY couple to Magaluf and us to a place called 'Cala Bona'??!?

After spending our first day finding our way about we actually found it to be very pleasant, with a beautiful harbour and the locals were so friendly. The beach was a beautiful cove of rocks which you could walk out on and made you feel very far out from the land.

That night we decided to go to a little bar called 'Waterloo' which is run by a little Spanish man named Tayo. The DJ there was from our part of the country and so we all hit it off. The bar was down stairs in a basement complex. The toilets could be really smelly - you know the one the typical scent you get from most Spanish draining systems. Luckily the toilets were out in the hallway so you only had to hold your breath on entering and exiting the building. Inside was a nice atmosphere and they would play your music requests.

The next day we went out for a walk in the opposite direction towards 'Cala Millor' along the prominade which is totally predestrianised, luckly really coz the Spanish are wild drivers. The sea on one side of you and shops to browse in on the other, check out 'Mango' for womens clothing. KFC, Burger King if your not so fond of Spanish cuisine.

If your looking for some nightlife in the form of a club then best to go into 'Cala Millor' for a night out, we walked along the prominade to Cala Millor but you can get a taxi from Cala Bona taxi rank just where the beach is - (by the way there is a much larger beach at Cala Millor but it can get very busy in high season my advice grab a spot when you can as all the watersports, bungie spring etc is based at Cala Millor.
The taxi won't cost you much as its not far at all, about 60-70Euros. Do put on your seatbelt though, these guys like to get the job done FAST.

When on a night out in Cala Millor do try out the 'BRITISH BULLDOG' which is a Bar and Restruant. The tend to be family orientated although everyone is invited to join the fun. The owner walks about putting flowers round peoples neck with a funny hat on a plastic bare bum over his trousers his name is Satu. Karoki is the main theme at night and music is played when no-one is singing, they even have their own BULLDOG NATIONAL ANTHUM - If you like rOy ChUbbY BroWn - then check it out; 'When you go to Spain, get out of your brain and act like a W*****' as part of the song goes.

Palace Q which is open 10pm until 6am which plays a mixture on English and Spanish music.

There are a few other clubs with similar opening times although I can't exactly remember them, do follow the crowds thats how we found out ways to different clubs as some are up the shopping streets in Cala Millor.

All in all I found that I got to sleep at night in the nice peaceful resort of Cala Bona and had Cala Millor on my doorstep. I counldn't have asked for more it was everything a holiday should be FUN, RELAXING, ALL NIGHT PARTYING, VERY FRIENDLY LOCALS, CULTURE.

Do check out the food at 'Smugglers' on the harbour fantastic for a chicken curry and on the main road in Cala Bona there is a yorkshire pub I think its called the Woolpack, don't miss out on their Carvery Roast dinner on a Sunday. The taste of home in Spain. Try a 'Pepito con Quessa' which is a pork crusty roll with cheese there are yummy.

I would reccommed a holiday to Cala Bona to most people I believe it has enough to capture mosts interest, you can also explore the island by hiring a car or motorbike or just book some trips with your Rep there are plenty to choose from and if you are choosing Cala Bona there is a beautiful hotel with a private part on the beach called LeVante.

Have fun...!! And Chill in Cala Bona
