Advantages: Relaxed, bars, restaurants, sandy beach, water sports Disadvantages: Easily bored after the first week
CalaMillor is a super resort for a rest on the beach. The sea has a gentle incline and apart from the palm leaf debris regularly washing in, is a great swim for all ages.
There is a super little sandwich bar right on the front near the police building on the beach who's home made rolls to order and take away local drinks, etc, make it well worth a visit.
There is plenty of flat promenade to walk, bicycle hire is easy. Cala Bona is at the north end of the beach and is worth an evening stroll.
The promenade offers a variety of eating oppotunities,it is not difficult to ascertain whom each facility caters for, which was a blessing. For the Brit, a visit to Stokers Bar, the leather shop and Gorans short order bar ( all next to each other at the begining of Cala Bona is well worth the short walk. Cas Torrandor resturant in Cala ...
Advantages: FAR too many to write down! Disadvantages: None at all!
CHEERS Bar is situated on Son Corp 20 in CalaMillor (a few hundred yards up from Burger King).
We discovered CHEERS in 1999 as it was the location of our holiday welcome meeting. We were impressed with what we saw and decided to return later that day for a meal and have never looked back since!
We were immediately impressed with the large and varied menu, good prices (roughly btn ?6-?10 for a main course), friendly waiting staff and delicious freshly prepared home cooked meals courtesy of Kev Holmes (the owner) - there's no frozen rubbish here of that I can assure you!
The quality of the food & friendly atmosphere has never dwindled in the years we have returned to CHEERS (2002, 2004 & 2005) and I can say hand on heart that we have NEVER had a bad meal there! Others must agree as it has a HUGE following of repeat tourists ...
Advantages: best beach on the island, clean Disadvantages: too artificial
When was the last time you did something for the first time? With my husband and me it was last year on Friday before Whitsun, the day was drab and dreary and my husband said, īLetīs go somewhere sunny!ī On Saturday we went to our travel agency and virtually moved round the Mediterranean Sea, Greece, Cyprus, Portugal, in the end it was Spain, on Tuesday we were on Majorca, in the resort CalaMillor on the east coast to be precise.
Majorca of all places! I donīt know about the reputation of Majorca in GB, in Germany itīs bad, from what Iīve understood from the travel reports Iīve read, it must be for Germans what Benidorm is for British tourists: everyone associates it with low life tourists going there only to booze and behave badly.
Whose fault is it that Majorca has got this negative image? Well, mass tourism began in the 1950s ...
