Very friendly people (like most colombians), famous for loving partying and celebrating (la rumba), and Cali is the salsa capital of Colombia. San Antonio has a nice view and buzzing atmosphere in the evenings before a night on the town (perphaps). Cali is a city with the feel of a small town but the benefits of a large city. However like most of Latin America there is a lot of poverty and inequality, be aware of this but dont let it ruin your trip, the colombian people dont let it ruin their lives and the positivity should rub off on you after a short time. Cali has a few large shopping centres (centros comerciales) which are worth a browse (Chipichape is one of the nicest). I recommend a day at the impressive Zoo (allegedly one of the best in South America) and a coffee at a local Juan Valdez is essential. There are some nice church buildings around worth visiting if you appreciate colonial architecture. Many parts of the city sell local, traditional handicrafts (artesanía) which make great souvenirs. Cali's biggest sell though has of course to be its all-year round summer. A nice hot climate, usually not too dry or with the levels of humidity found at the colombian carribbean coast for example.
