Callow Top is situated about a mile from the pleasant town of Ashbourne and away from all roads, so there is no traffic noise. It is a large very busy site with lots of facilities, including a heated outdoor swimming pool and a pub which does excellent value meals. There is a large outdoor play area and a large hall mainly for the children and teenagers.
The piches are relatively small so you have to be fond of many close neighbours. A new ablutions block has been built and this has relieved the pressure on the old one.
The Tissington trail, for walking and cycling, is adjacent, and footpaths surround the site. Dovedale is about 5 miles away.
The reception staff are exceptionally helpful and friendly.
Overall, one of the best sites in the area, you need to book early for peak periods.
